new amp?

ive been playing guitar for around a year now and i have a shity amp and a wah pedal. im debating this christmas whether to get one or two new effects, or an entire new amp. also what amp or effects should i get

shants; theyre not quite shorts, but not quite pants
 
i have a marshall cab....mghdfx or something..cheapest half stack for 6 or 700..it gigs well which is cool and is a huge upgrade from my first amp...or a good decent crate...some good amps have tons of effects in them...definately get one with a footswitch avaliable..

the second guitarist in my band has a dad that owns a music store so we get all these sweet amps for real cheap.

If you have around 500$ you should go for a tube amp combo. Like a peavey Classic 30 or a Traynor Ycv40. They are louder and have way better tone than any solid state amp in the 100 Watt range. Plus they are giggable and adding effects to a low level amp woulnt make you sound much better.

 
as far as an effect pedal, if you want something really special, i'd go for the boss me-50. its got hundreds of effects built into it, a digital wah, the only thing it doesnt have built into it is an envelope filter. the only draw back is its like $270, but it's well worth it.

i just bought a new traynor 40 watt, it plays fucken loud and its clear

My time is winding down.............just wait for it
