Heyyo NS!

Just dropped our new 21/22 skis on 4FRNT.com. Let us know what you think of the new graphics and skis - as always hit us up with any questions. Stoked to introduce a new 99mm underfoot freeride ski called the SWITCH, a re-engineered HOJI ski (now available with Eric's 4-LOCK Skin System), and epic new graphics to all 11 skis in our line. Got more info coming out on @4frnt_skis soon.

[tag=21244]@4FRNT[/tag] U need someone tu test a pair

I’ve ridden the MSP99 and can confirm their skis rip! Those are super hard charging all mtn skis, and quite nice to tour on even with their weight may I add. Super bomb proof no core shots or even top sheet chips so far.

Knocking it out the park with these graphics, love the switches graphic!

agreed in general and that the Switch is especially dope. reminds me a little of one of my old pairs of ARVs:

maybe this is the year i'll finally sack up and get a pair of hojis...ive wanted that ski for so long

i'm loving the graphics, the msp 107 is especially nice

for anyone looking for a do it all kick ass ski, look no further than the devastator, i rode my pair for 7 seasons and its my favorite ski of all time

The new devs are very different than the pair you had 7 szns ago ?

The devs just arrived!

All in all they checkout. Came in good condition, no issues with the manufacturing, the rocker profile is very similar to the previous seasons, just a lil more aggressive rise in the rocker near the tip, which was actually something I thought the 2019 could use.

top sheets slap btw, pretty sick imo

Also, like this if you’d be interested in seeing a few devastator review edits as the season progresses.(I stomp around snowbird and Alta)

I road on the 2019and was super impressed with them, this

Stoked you're feeling the SWITCH! Still committed to bringing unique graphics to every ski we make - too many blank/solid colors these days on skis. These old ARVs are rad.

The 107s look dope!

The Hoji got re-engineered by Eric this past winter - the new version rips! Still a powder weapon but a lot more versatile on hard-pack and variable snow. Made in Canada with a bomber aspen/maple core.

Stoked you grabbed some Devs man! We'll be roaming around Alta/Snowbird a bunch this winter - and we'll mostly be skiing the Devastator.

the switch and devastator are def up my alley , looking real good!

Maybe the most two fun skis in our line. That's what we'll be skiing most of the season. Stoked you like them!

As member of the month I believe you should send me a pair of the switch to test. Thank you.

They are my favorite ski hands down. Been rocking them since 2014 somehow

I got to try the switch @Blister Summit; bought a pair when they became available. I tend to like soft skis (SFB, Reckoner, Blend) but this ski clicked with me well; really liked the turn initiation (the camber in part, I think). I miss skiing; every time I walk by them I'm thinking how cool sliding on snow is gonna be this year :)

yooo what's the flex like on them? and if you're feeling really nice, can you take a picture showing how much rise the tails have?

Stiff compared to reckoner; tails and tips don't have a lot of rise; here ya go :). (Tip on left)1009917.jpeg

Stoked for you Rike and definitely want to see some review edits once the snow falls. Thayne, Jake Doan, and Ian Hamilton will be ripping Devs around Alta and Snowbird too - keep an eye out for them.

Blister Summit was mad fun! You might have been one of the first people outside of our Team Riders and engineers to get the new Switch out on snow. All the feedback has been so strong, we're really excited.

We'd be stoked if you could drop some more feedback in here once you get some more days on snow.

you're the man, thank you! much appreciated

[tag=21244]@4FRNT[/tag] , is there a reason to share why the tips aren't very high? just curious, not worried about it

also def agree i'd love to hear the review from you, sheddd, if you get a chance

The tip height your seeing is in its cambered position, so remember it will be about 5-10mm higher under weight due to its early rise in the tip. Our decision on tip and tail height was based on the intended use of the ski. It's not a powder ski, so by dropping the tip and tail height a bit we could reduce the swing weight of the ski and increase the effective edge rather than have that extra cm's of extra tip height.

This was especially true for the tails, when you're riding switch on groomers or firm snow, you don't need a full tail twin tip and in soft snow your leaning forward which lifts your tails off the ground. In deep powder, a full twin is definitely needed but that isn't what the Switch is intended for. Also by using 3 different radii in the sidecut and the mount point 3.5 cm back from center you actually have equal effective tip and tail edge with the early rise in the tip of the ski.

thanks for the detailed reply! yeah i forgot the most obvious part, that without someone standing on them they're lower cause of the camber

No problem! Jake Doan and Ian Hamilton spent the 2nd half of the winter ripping around Alta and Woodward Park City on the final Switch and put the tip and tail height to test and were hyped on the performance.

Found my notes re 4frnt switch from blister summit and thought of this thread; I am not a good reviewer but here ya go :)

I skied this for about 3.5 hours Thursday, at recommended mount and +3; I think I liked the recommended mount better. I like the tip shape and taper. Most freeride/park skis with a good bit of tip rocker have left me wanting something and I think this ski has it :). It doesn’t feel dead in the tip yet it butters nicely. I must have. :)

Stoked you came through the Blister Summit. That was an epic week at CB. The Switch rips.

Those Switch skis look fun as hell, especially if you already have some pow skis. I am glad they have some camber, too many companies jumped on the rocker bandwagon for pro models even though they are not ideal for 90% of the conditions most skiers see every day.

Yeah all MOTM deserve the new switch all 2021 MOTM that is

Agreed.

More seriously, how similar is the new Switch to the Switchblade? That was the first real park ski I rode!

Think poppier, wider, light switchblade. The Switch is definitely a more capable ski for skiing outside the park, which was a huge design aspect we focused on last year with prototypes. We want to be able to get off the lift and rip all the way down to the park and have just as much fun as we have in the park. Updating the core to aspen/maple with carbon fiber gives the ski tons of energy and pop and the increased camber gives it epic carving capabilities. The Switch is definitely much more than just a park ski.
