Need to Build Portable Rail

Hey there fellow NS'rs

So I'm looking to build a somewhat portable pvc/abs rail or preferable large diameter pvc/abs pipe to jib this season in the backyard...first of all if any of you know where I can get a large diameter pvc like 8 to 10 inches any info would be great. But other than that once I find a piece I want to build a small portable stand for the rail/jib. Any input as to how best do this would be greatly appreciated! +k for being legit

Dear Josh,

You will need to head on out to your local building center. You will need PVC pipes, 2x4s, nuts, bolts, a drill and a few drill bits. Its really not that hard at all, you can wing it. talk to a sales person at your building center, they will be more then happy to help. if you are under 18 be sure to have parent supervision.

go to buy like a 6 inch + tube as long as you want it. Come in different sizes. If you need to cut it not very hard with a miter saw.

Make sure to screw it nicely into some 2x4s or something. Build it to stand some abuse because it's gonna take it.

A nice way if you wan to spend a few bucks but not a ton is two use steel with a 2x4 frame

Have one 2 x4 or 4x4 as your center. With a 2x4 lower on each side. screw in tightly to the center.
 
threads so when i get back after this weekend ill show you my rail... there was a local building store that had longer than 10ft diameter PVC cause lowes etc only goes to 10 feet. buy it. buy some PRESSURE TREATED 2x4 and have at it
 
Lol, Don't waste your money on pressure treated would for a fucking pvc rail.

No point. Reg 2x4s if framed right are fine. We're not talking about a deck that needs to last you 20+ years.
