I am building a chair for the shop I work at out of some old, brightly colored skis. Its going to be a rocking chair, so I need to have a pair of skis bent into a somewhat U shape and have them stay that way. Anybody have some suggestions? I have a few ideas of my own, but I just wanted to see if anyone has some experience in bending a ski and making it stay that way.I was thinking of heating it up somehow and maybe it would stay bent? Or making a bunch of cuts on the bottom side, bending it, then filling it in with epoxy to make it stay bent.... Let me know what you think!

you can just hold the kis under presure in some way and they can stay bent like that you will need to have lots of small suports comming up though all along the bent ski or its gunna flex out

you will break them, especially old straight skis. It can be done with heat, but at that point, the tops sheets are melted and they look like shit.

I have never seen a rocking ski chair with skis on the bottom. You can probably make a wooden or metal frame for the bottom. Here are some instructions on building a ski chair (you can probably replace most of the wood with skis in these plans):

Also, if you still want to create a rocking chair, try using this, but change out some of the wood for skis:

Heats the way to go start to torch that bitch then stick a tip or tail under a door and slowly start to bend it. Or u could just use a pair of old ass flimsy Jr skis they are smaller too so maybe no cuts needed.

you just want to rockerize some skiis that pretty simple.

siply set the said pair of skis on a pre made mold/mounting block/press, then put he said skiis on the mold/mounting block/press then pull the lever you muist have the machine first
