so im taking a spring/ early summer trip to the noerth west coast, and i need a ski pack. something light, with a good way to carry the skis. any suggestions?

i have the dakine heli pro pack. it has a lot of decent features like camelback compatibility, a camera pouch on one of the waist straps, a goggle pouch with fuzzy lining, and a helmet compartment. it holds skis diagonally across the back which is ok. if you are doing some serious hiking the skis might wobble a little depending on their size. i like it because it is really low profile and the straps are comfy so for day trips it works well. i picked it up on sale too so it wasn't that pricy

I dont know waht the dakine heli pro is like but i have the PRO 2 and it is a 26L pack and it has a great way to carry skies.

for smaller less techy packs Dakine is greatWhat do you want a pack for? all around stuff, backcountry, cameras etc?and what size about. more specifics would make it easier to help you out

i need something small, and the hydro pouch on the heli pro is sick, but i dont like the diaganol ski carry. id rather carry them with one ski on each side of the pack like this...

Black Diamond makes the best ski packs PERIOD.

Covert is my choice, can carry skis many ways, but honestly diagonal is the best.

You might think that the avalung is a bit much for you and you might be right.

One thing about hydration sleeves is that you don't want one for skiing unless it is super insulated. Dakine's are exposed and not to my standards.

I used to think that BCA packs were good until I blew through two in less than 3 years.
