Hey everybody im new to these thread and am stoked to be apart of them now. Sick website btw.Im just gonna get straight to the point and not waste anybody s time haha. Im a snowboarder but ever since I have started snowboarding I have been in love with skiing some how. I think that its a thousand times better than snowboarding and Im currently saving some cash to get skis. I am pretty decent at snowboarding and I just wanted to know if the transition from snowboarding to skiing would be pretty easy?im not trying to start anything about this being a vs thread just some input would be nice and appreciated thanks guys.

This is my first year being a full-time skiier. It took a little bit of time for me to get "good" but it isnt too bad. Powder and bumpy stuff is harder to ski. I live in Salt Lake and had a lot of time to spend on the mountain but it is working out nicely and I prefer skiing over snowboarding now.

Just go with a friend who ski's, hopefully they don't just bail on you, your first time up like they did to me hahha

Well, first of all welcome to NS. Im not quite sure about a switch because I have never snowboarded but I have some friends that have switched over and they have found it pretty easy. Hope you have a ton of fun skiing. :)

One of my friends went from board to skiis, and if I don't drag my ass down to the hill more often than I do he'll get better than me

The switch is the best thing you have ever done,, I snowboarded for 7 years and it took me about 2 to learn how to 360, my first day skiing I could 360... This is my second year skiing and I can frontflip

It's funny how proud of your frontflip you are...

But yeah, I snowboarded for quite a few years before I switched. Hardest part is going to be getting over the dominant foot problem... with skiing you're going to need both to be dominant. That and jumps are going to be funky to learn at first.

Welcome to NS.
