i dont want this to sound like a dateing add, but i need more ski friends!! probably like most people on here im always trying to maximise how much time i get on the slopes. i often end up going on my own as i have limited number of friends who ski, so they dont want to go as often as me. im sick of paying single person supplement, so if anyone as any space on a group trip with a good deal, or wants to rent me some floor space if you have an apartment rented out for the season then please let me know. looking mainly for europe but to be honest id very happily come over to the states or canada. im 29 years old, like to have a fun runs through the park and love jumping around in the backcountry. im trying to save money for a heli-ski trip to canada or alaska in 2014, so trying to get on the slopes without wasteing money on supplements. thanks

Hey man,

I'm in the same boat as you,, I'm also 29, & love to ski park or back country, I ski once a year with my girlfriend but its never enough & I don't have any pals that ski, so any thing u have in mind I'm up for it including that helicopter trip not sure if I'm good enough for AK thou that shit looks narley, I only created a account on here this week to try and get the word out about definition camps.

There a snowboarding School that want to get into the freeski scene, I have been to one of their weekend camps at Hemel Hempstead snowdome and it was good, They have a coach and want to run the week alongside their snowboard camp in Austria on th 2nd of feb but they need to get the numbers up first. It costs £1100 and that includes your flights transfers ski carriage and accommodation with half-board And 5 1/2 days coaching, all you have to do is buy you a lift pass what do you think?

hey!! this site just gets cooler nd cooler, finally get to chat/meet like minded people!! apparantly for alaska you dont have to be an awesome skier, there is a range of runs available, but obv the main attraction of the place are the narley slopes :-) id just be worried bout having too much downtime in alaska so im kinda favouring canada at the moment! the one company ive looked at charges £7000 for the week plus you need ur international flights, plus if im going heliskiing would probs want a warm up week in a ski resort in canada first, so i can see the whole trip costing bout £10,000!! unless u know any cheaper ways of doing it then im currently saving like mad, so i think the austria trip mite be a little over my budget for this year as i really want that once in a lifetime heli holiday!! ive seen an offer for la tania with alpine elements, they are offering big discounts for the chalet as its new on there books, nd they also have buy one get one free on liftpasses, plus and extra £200 off if in a group of 6 or more! wasnt sure if i shud just book last minute again this year and go where the snow is, tho it tends to be a bit more expensive if snow is as good as last year :-) im open to suggestions on some resorts to try. ive heard good reports about la rosiere and when i put a thread on here asking for good resort suggestions there were a lot of austrian resorts recommended! where do u fancy skiing this winter? are you tied to set dates? im self employed so can have whenever off :-)

Wow 10 bags for 2weeks skiing that's a lot of readies! You can get 11 weeks for 7G's + flights in Banff check it outhttp://www.basecampgroup.com/ski-instructor-courses/11-week-ski-instructor-course-banff

They have other stuff too check out there ski Courses. Once u are there I'm sure a weekend hele or cat trip could be sorted?

I'm saving to get set to start a family bigger car & every thing else, but never say never I'd have a loan fuck it that's a once in a life time deal. I'd still ski every year but my bird wouldn't so need to find some new people to ski with

That's why I think the ski camps a good idea I've bugged the guy to run it for the last 2 seasons if he pulls it out the bag I can't not go, besides would b sick to ski in a group Especially in the park, Also its potentially a good chance to meet like minded people to have more ski trips with in the future? & your never to good to improve a bit??? Also a weeks half board there that time a year is a grand any ways, the park in mayrhofen is sponsored by vans it's great!

My leave runs April to April and I have saved two weeks for two trips this season One with the camp (if its on?) and one with my girlfriend, But my boss skis so if I ask him to take a week early I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with it as he would understand the itch needs scratching haha, totally Flexible on dates. I wouldn't mind Where we went It might be worth waiting although we'd have to pay a bit more if its guaranteed powder it's worth it!!

haha, yea you only live once and u cant take money with you once ur dead, u only have memories! but yea id imagine starting a family can eat into ur money pretty quick!!! ohhh the 11 weeks in banff sounds good, i can never decide if i wanna do an instructor course or not, dont think id ever wanna be an instructor as i like flexibily of my own ski time when skiing, do like teaching others but wudnt like to do it all the time. tho cud always look at staying in canada for a month and doing a couple of days heli and couple days cat skiing, im sure 6/7 grand will go a long way doing it that way!!! the website for the heli holiday is www.eaheliskiing.com/

yea when you put it like that that the camp in austria aint too bad, keep me posted on that one. my bro wants to go on a hol at some point nd i know that would be out of his budget, so il be going with him, probs mid jan, but il get a few extra weekends in at work and save so i mite be able to do both!! :-) what is it you do for work? im a self employed roofer, ive had a great summer in preston :-s think we have only had 6 dry days all summer!!

yea u learn so much skiing with others that are into the same things and with skiers that are better than you! did the price include a lift pass or is that on top?

il get together some info on the trip in mid jan, nd let u know, nd u find out more on that ski camp for the week nd if its going ahead let me know the details.

That hele trip looks crazy, I know what your saying about an instuctor corse, its just a cheap way of spending a long time in the mountains, and it would really up your game, they have improver corses too but it wouldnt be a bad qulifcation to have i guess.

That price for the camp does not include the lift pass but if Gav (the owner) does not get any intrest other than me its not on any way. I will keep you posted either way and hopefully we can hook some thing up 1 way or another

Glad i read this thread, was thinking of doing something similar to escape the nasty UK...I was worried in case it's not a wise move at my age, and maybe i missed the boat. I'm 28 and it's good to hear people the same age still thinking the same ;)

Hey if theres room for one more gimme a shout, most of my friends have got married etc and dont go away anymore , would be great to meet some new homies

Cheers

Ditto, i like this thread too. Its not just about the kids, im 30 and like to freeski, I'm trying to get back on the horse a bit with freeskiing following a crash which put me out for 18months, broken knee ACL and all the good stuff.

Anyways, i have been on summer sessons and freeski camps, great fun and good way to meet peeps. I only have 1 week planned this year so far week of the 9th feb, with my fiance so interested in more $$$ depending.

week of feb we havent decided where we are going yet, so if we see anywhere were we can get good deals with multiple parties etc will let you guys know.

Cheers,

Foz

Hey, Rob and I are in the middle of trying to put a late cheap trip together, Leaving on the 30th of March for the Easter weekend or that whole week, So far there is two options (both for a week) Rob found a trip to Verbier £400 per person All in apart from your lift pass or la tania in France, There is a possibility of free accommodation sometime in April or if that doesn't work out we should be able to get a late deal for £250 per person as soon as its available through iglu again not including a lift pass

What do you think

If we can get a free accommodation I live quite close to the Eurotunnel (30 min) if possible we could all me at mine the night before and have a road trip? if no one has a motor we could hire one if we split everything Fourways it Shouldn't work out too bad?

lots of text in this thread, promise to read it when I have less of a headache

I'm 26, like to ski park and also want to get away soon. I moved to cornwall to surf and windsurf, all my buddies moved to london to become slaves. don't even think there's a ski slope here so getting cabin fever!

a week or 2 in europe maybe

cool, nice to meet you

After reading through it seems like the place i need to be :)

Im in the same boat as you non of my friend ski or board so i usually go away with the family but due to my mum being diagnosed with cancer she can no longer go this year and possibly not next year either so im stuck looking for somewere to go on my lonesome haha Still not decided if i fancy a week alone in the snow yet.

If you guys are planning a trip let me know would love to find a group of lads from the uk i can party up with to shred some snow.

Vibes to your mum bro ......really hope she pulls through that shit.

We should all keep in touch and maybe meet up at one of the UK indoor slopes to get to know one another and plan a trip.

Jonny

Prob best to PM each other with our facebook and get a little group going. Prob the easiest way to organise this.

I'm looking at getting a tripped organised over to Whistler or Lake Louise area(s) next season as I have a friend in either of the the areas, but I only ski with (middle age'ish) boarders.

I like to ski park on the days where there has been no fresh and obviously the pow on those deep fresh days..

Anyone thinking about flying out for a week or two this season??

Need to get away myself to try out the new Twin Tips and really dont want to solo it for a week :)

wowzas, i dont log on for a couple of months and i miss all these threads. been mad busy with moving house, and working every hour there is to pay for the mega trip ;-)

so has everyone on this thread now made plans for the rest of the season? im stil looking at a cheap way of getting out to the slopes sometime in march, wana avoid the school hols tho! im currently scouring the web and trying to tap up friends and contacts to keep it cheap! id quite like to drive out and visit a few different resorts in an area, maybe stay in hostels or something? has anyone done anything similar to this, if so any suggestions on where to start, or are packages way cheaper?

The school holidays are in roughly weeks time.

Personally, I won't be getting away anywhere this season.

Still looking at getting away somewhere next season. Preferably North America.
