I took my skis to my shop and got them mounted, however i must have entered in some wrong information because the shop set my DIN too high. I need to know what i should set my DIN down to from the 8 position they both have currently.

Skis: 189 Hellbents with STH 14 Drivers

185 Armada El Rey with Marker Griffons

As i said both are currently set at 8 and i dont want to pay the shop to adjust them.

My Information:

Age: 16

Height: 6' 1"

Weight: 150

Skier Type: III

BSL: 315 mm

My El Reys are for park while my Hellbents will be for pow, big mountain and cliffs. The Salomon chart said a 7 for my hellbents but i cant access the new marker chart.

Please help but only if you guys really know what you are talking about.

Seriously you are a big boy, I think you can handle it. 8 sounds very much correct, You could probably go 10 if you wanted, but yeah, you are fine.

this. especially if you ski big mountain and cliffs. you dont want your ski coming of when your getting ready to hit a cliff

that calculator is kinda odd:
126-147lbs5'11"-6'4"10-49y/oType 3291-310mm
6.5DIN
148-174lbs5'11"-6'4"10-49y/oType 3291-310mm
8DIN
Just seems like a big jump if you weigh 145ish

when you look at a din chart and find your height and weight. it will give you a number. say 6.5, if you mark that you are a type 3 skier, then the shop will bump your din by 3 levels, which would put you right around 8.5-9ish.

stop worrying.

I'm a certified shop tech and according to your weight, height, age, and ability level; you're skier code is 'M', with a BSL length of 315 that puts your DINs at 7.00.

However DINs settings have so many different variables, but legally shop techs have to follow each given value to set the proper DIN setting. But judging upon your level of skiing and equipment 8 will suffice for you. You can manually crank your settings higher/lower with a simple phillips or flathead screwdriver. Depending on how much torque you want to pop out of your sticks, I wouldnt set them lower than 7.00, how high you want to crank, you're preference!
