i made a thread in trick tip cult, but it is pretty dead, and i was lookin for some answers before this weekend.

i have been doin some lincolns lately, some are better than others but i havent really gotten any on camera except this one....and i eat it. and i dont know what im doing wrong hahah. anybody got some tips for me on how to fix this? i seem to turn a little sideways right as i am landing. also i have had trouble spotting my landing with them too. i came around to pretty much land fully switch once, and one guy said i should just go for an underflip...but i dont know how to do that either haha. anyways heres the video. +karma to answers.

i'd say tuck your legs in more and really set a hard flip looking in the same direction the entire time and bring your head to your shoulder. Practice on tramps or diving boards too if you can.

You're trying to underflip. To practice doing an actual lincoln come into the jump with your left arm up in the air, then as you hit the jump, pop and drop your arm to your side and your head to your shoulder and keep your head looking out on the horizon, You should see your landing kinda come around when you get about 3/4 of the way through, at that point you should either open your body up from the tuck that you're in and stomp it, or keep tucking if you need more rotation. It's a pretty easy flip actually, just commit to it and focus on dropping your arm and head to the side without actually turning your head or your body (like you would if you were spinning).

Another thing that helps is tramp practice. You'll get it really fast it you feel the rotation on a trampoline first.

Good luck man! Let us know how it goes!

yeah i posted in the trick tip cult, but it is pretty much dead in there hahah. i have done them all my life on tramps and diving boards with no problem, and i have always been able to keep it straight, but for some reason it is different on skis. so am i dropping my should too far back? like too far behind my butt, should i throw it more in front?

You're trying to initiate the invert before you even pop off the jump. Pop off the jump to give yourself more height and time. You're also using your entire upper body to huck yourself and none of your lower body.

As soon as you pop reach your inside arm down to your inside foot. Take your other arm and throw it over your head.

You have a lot of problems here, along with what everyone else said, you really need to work on your takeoff. You're coming in WAY backseat which is setting you up to be shitty in the air and then you're not getting the trick around well. So get the takeoff better, pop a TON more, and more so than throwing it with your upper body, try to feel your hip and lower body come through on the flip.

The reason you are turning is most likely you aren't putting ear to shoulder, you're putting cheek/chin to shoulder, so that will fix the spinning problem but you still won't land till you fix your takeoff and stop hucking so much.

Alright, all you really need to do is pop, literally if you watch ski jumping at all do what they show they do going off. Push off with everything and throw it and you will be much better off.
