Need help with marking problem

I need to know what i need to get on my exam in order to pass my class i have a 60 right now and i have my exam which is 30% of the course how much do i need to get above 50

you need a 27% on your exam.

if you were to get a zero on the exam you would have 42 (60 * .7)

you need 8 percent more to pass so

30 / a = 8

if we re arrange it is a = 8 / 30

that equals 26.66.

27 +.3 = 8.1

if you get a 27 on your exam, it will be 42 + 8.1

so you will get a 50.1 in the course.

I really hope for your own sake that you don't have any math exams

hahah its actually a pre calculus exam grade 11 but I am studying hard in law right now so i can get that done thanks man +karma
