Need help with a touring setup?

So im looking at getting into touring for this year. BC rockies, charging big lines and cliffs and all that fun stuff. I'm looking at ON3P C&D,s with Marker tour F12's... Any thoughts???
 
Buy avy gear.

Take avy course.

Find people that know their way around.

Take another avy course.

Try not to kill the people you're skiing with.
 
idk about the C&D but they have a massive amount of rocker which can be a bad thing when skinning. if you have a ton of rocker there is less surface area which means less traction when skinning ( which makes you slide around, fall down, and can be very miserable) so if you plan on doing a lot of touring i might reconsider. if your content with on3p i would go with the steeple 112. also if you skin with super wide pow skis your topsheets get destroyed (mostly at the tips and tails) because of the constant banging together when you walk. as the marker f12, i have no experience. i do happen to tour on the marker baron. my setup is a little heavy, but it gets the job done and makes my legs stronger. and from what i hear the f12s tour better than my barons, which means theyre lighter too.
 
As above, the C+D in general will be awful for touring.

The f12 are good if you are light, they are not as burly as barons or dukes but a fair bit lighter.

If you are charging big lines etc maybe consider a beefier binding - unless you are happy with the f12 because you are a light guy.

Some camber and a narrower ski would be recommended for touring

All of This ^^^^^^^.

Buy Beacon, probe and shovel. Buy used AT gear. Cheaper and then if you don't like touring you didn't spend a grand and half on shit you won't use.
