Need help picking out skis for next year

For the past two seasons I've been riding on Salomon Foils (blue/white/red ones). I liked them enough.

I'm looking to get skis for the upcoming season but have no idea where to start.

I ski all mountain most of the time, but I want a ski thats good for buttering and bonks but also the occasional jump sesh. I ski at loon, so the jumps aren't redic huge but they're decent sized. I do more jibbing and bonking then I do jumps.

I was looking at the afterbangs (just because of the hype) but it seems like they wouldn't be that great for outside of the park. Loon is East coast so I ride pretty much only groomers with the occasional powder day.

Sparknotes:

Looking for something that is...

-Light

- Buttery

- Holds up well on jibs/bonks

- Handles jumps

- East coast groomers (I need something that can carve decently)

Any help is appreciated (and is returned with karma!)

id roll with thhe abangs or anthems because they r both buttery and both fully semetrucal for cruzing the gromers i do the same as you and i will get the a bangs

armada AR6.
a light, bomb proof ski that is geared towards all mountain with medium flex
since you're a bigger dude you will still be able to butter the shit out of these...
I'm 6'3" 190 and I felt that the afterbangs had way too much chatter at high speeds/ wandering-ski-syndrome, and I had a pair of anthems and they just weren't stable enough at speed either... both are great rail skis, but I like to ski other stuff too... and if armada isn't your fancy look into the line chronic/moment jib

AR6 is def. a solid choice, I would also look at whatever Dynastars replace the TM. My buddy skiied these and loved them, kinda stiff and really fun to ski everywhere

damn it bugs me that soo often the first post is "afterbangs or anthems". I would say Thalls in 181 would be a good choice for you, AR6s if you want some more stability but still a soft ski. A few years ago Head had some ski that were stable yet super buttery(forget model, and not sure what the current similar model would be, but try to find out)

I guess abangs are becoming the new full tilts.

Anyway, I'll check out the AR6 and Thalls. Thanks for all the replys, +k for all.

Armada T-Halls are best, they are not noodles like some lines (afterbangs, invaders, anthem,), and are not 2x4's like head. They are buttery, poppy tail, handle really well at center, and are somewhat light. Its my favorite ski so far. If you want something similar, but only a lil bit stiffer, the pipecleaner is good also, it's still soft, but handles jumps better, especially bigger jumps and at your weight

Line Anthems fo shoo, get them centermounted i'd get the 178's based on your height and ye they ride exactly the same switch, they're probly the best buttering skis but they got some stiffness and carve pretty well. also they float great they got some width so if you get a powpow day you will have a great time, ye there pretty solid skis, base is also really tough/durable i've put mine over so many rocks and with a little peetex my bases are in almost perfect shape

also anthems are dam cheap i got a deal on a pair of purple 178's last year, reg like $450, got mine for $250 best 250 ever spent my bindings cost me as much as my anthems for god sakes, these skis are sick bro buy um you won't be disapointed, especially for the price.

one negative, topsheet is a little fragile mines got a few scratches

but ye sick skis

yeah theres so much hype about the afterbangs this year everyone and his grandma is gonna be getting a pair this season

exactly why its gonna be gay. i hate it when some other fool is rockin your planks. this is why i am happy i got some lim edition anthems.

the anthems are actually perfect for you everything you described about the skiis you want is basically the description of the line anthems

anthems suck at high speeds and there are way better jump skis. not to mention the super chipping of the sidewalls...
most people on NS are all about LINE and I just hope you look elsewhere
but the anthem is killer rail ski and is super easy to butter

haha really. heads are sooo heavy. i had the junior ski (forgot what its called) that had bones on the topsheet heaviest pair of skis ive EVER owned. DONT GET HEAD unless its JOs pro model but i still hate head. go with the afterbang graphics are a little gay this year but they are good skis.
