Ok so this summer I have to go to russia (the european part of it, St. Petersburg, if that matters) for 4 weeks, and off course my 360 will be necessary there. Now I have some questions that I think you guys could help me out with. Thanks in advance for any help.

Will I need to buy another powerbrick to use it, or can I just buy the outlet cable that goes into the powerbrick, or what? I think power is the main issue.

Will anything that my xbox can currently play work in europe? I know that they use different game/movie formats, but since it's off my xbox, it'll work, right?

I won't need a new TV to xbox cable because there the same, right?

And is there anything else I'm overlooking?

++karma to any help!

iam pretty sure youre going to need a whole new power brick since i believe they use 220volts instead of the north american 120 volts, i might be wrong though, go to a best buy or futureshop and ask them, im sure theyll be able to help you

okay my power brick says that the max voltage is 175 volts so you need to get either a new powerbrick or a plug converter that converts voltage also, i suggest a new powerbrick b/c the converters heat up really fast. as for games, your xbox plays NTSC games so any NTSC game will work on it, so if you bring yours to russia they'll be fine, there're aren't russian brainwaves that mess up your game format as far as i'm concerned. but you won't be able to rent/buy games in russia unless they sell NTSC formatted games
so it seems like all you have to do is get a new powerbrick with voltage that hits 220 or get a converter from american plugs to european plugs

You should be fine with just a plug adapter on an Xbox. They are like 50 cents. Honestly though I would call a pro because I once blew up a fan that I thought was fine on the adapter, but it actually needed a transformer.

haha
no you need to convert the voltage b/c if you have too much coming in you'll fry the xbox and the power brick so you need a new brick or a voltage converter

The NTSC/PAL discussion also involves the output from your XBOX to the TV, not just the discs your playing. Not sure how things have changed recently with new HD and other technologies in the TVs (some can handle both formats) but you should probably look into what TV you will be using there.

yea if it's dual 110 and 220 that means it works in both places so as long as you have a cable with an american plug and a cable with a russian plug you should be able to use that powerbrick both places, it's okay to go under the suggested voltage just don't go over, that kills everything

you will need the dual powerbrick. the one you have found sounds like it will work. if you play your us games on ur us xbox, it'l work fine. whether it gets to the tv im not sure. wen i moved from australia to the us it worked on tv's here. that was 7 years ago tho, so depending on current tech it may or may not be different. maybe email microsoft? the cables im pretty sure are the same tho so i don't see why it wouldnt work

^and yes, that's what they look like
