Need help on a video camera for skiing.

So i am thinking about getting a video camera for skiing and other things that i do. but i know nothing about any video cameras. what is a good basic camera that takes clear shot and thats not to expencive.

also the video format has to be easy to edit with

a lot of people are going to tell you the hv30.

or an HV20. Maybe even a panisonic pv-gs180, the 3CCD is somewhat comparable to the high def.
