so recently i got my Nikon D5100. I have a 18-55mm lens and a 55-200mm lens. I got this Camera moving onto mainly the Photo-side of things, but i want to get into Filming. The problem is i got some sick shots and i'm ready to edit it. But it uploads to the computer with a .MOV file and windows movie maker doesnt support that file. Then i came across a file converter and converted it to a .WMV file and it uploaded then too see it had the water-mark in the middle of the screen. I am brand new to editing using windows movie maker and i dont really understand it. I am wanting to put my money now towards a Glidecam HD 1000 and i thought to myself it would'nt really be worth it until i learn how to edit.

- So i want a good editing software. ( sugestions ) for a PC

- And what to do about the uploading, because i cant edit anything with these files so i need to know how to upload to my comp. with a .WMV file

I don't know much about PCs, but everyone seems to like sony vegas, for a lower level editing program. You should be able to read .mov with vegas and not have to worry about converting it. But, if you still want to convert, check out mpeg streamclip, great tool, www.squared5.com

The latest version on movie maker should work fine with .mov files, ive tested it myself.

And I would recommend premiere if you can get your hands on it, its a little harder now that the pirate bay doesnt supposrt torrent files.

STOP SAYING THIS IN ALL THREADS, i just downloaded where the wild things are from a torrent from piratebay. It works fine, stop giving misinformation.

I used to use Sony Vegas until I used my friends adobe premiere pro cs5.5. Adobe takes a little while getting used to it but def a great product to use. Also Sony Vegas is good also

just either get vegas or premiere by downloading the trial and then entering serial number or torrenting.
