plllleeeeassseee please please someone help me out there. i just got my hv40. i've been filming and getting shots ready for an edit. i tried to upload some clips from final cut express and it said it would take like a bagillion years, and it was only 10 clips. pleasseee someone out there help me. i need to know like what settings to change to make it a smaller file, and what will help make it upload faster on vimeo. +K for anyone who helps. pm me if you want

when you exported, did you compress? its probably that simple. your prabably still in your 1080 format which is why its such a bitch. also might be a stupid thing to say but it happens a lot. make sure you cut your song where you want it to end because if you leave it there it continues to export the black image as video

well when i exported i clicked use quick time conversion which helped a bit... but still. 10 clips without music was like 24MB. how do i get it out of 1080? and will i lose quality? i used an hv40 to shoot it so i want the quality. thanks man

will it keep it in the great quality if i export in 1080x720? im shooting with an hv40, so i dont want to lose any qulaity

so if i want 1080 HD i need to export it as 1920x1080? idk just look at the post above where someone said to do it

hahah sry bro this post was mad funny. ur all over the place man. its not the music that will take up space its the part that its HD...dont expect much. just drop it down from 1440x1080 to 1280x720 and file size should be smaller..plus thats like the best size for online streaming.

Final version should be 1280x720 to save space. You don't need 1080p for internet.

evan you should just do a screen cast of "how to export in final cut for vimeo/ns" and get it sticky'ed, then there would be no ore threads!

HDV footage, such as the 1080 footage from the HV40 is 1440x1080, not 1920x1080, however the pixels are rectangular, not square, which is why it fills a 16x9 screen.

But, go to export>quicktime conversion>settings and then under size, choose 1280x720. You will lose some resolution, but if you want a smaller file size you have to sacrifice quality. 720p is more than good enough for the internet. Plus, if your video is any good, nobody will care about resolution. If your video is bad, nobody will care about resolution. yaknowhatimean?

i also have this probleminstead of uploading directly up to final cut try uploading to imovie and then taking the clips from finder and putting them into final cut...works for me
