Hey i need some binding help from someone with experience. I need to adjust a pair of Solomon s12 bindings tonight and i haven't ever adjusting bindings myself, always had a shop do it. i need to make them a bit bigger to fit a boot size about 2 sizes up. Can anyone give me some instructions?

Haven't played with S912's but some other Salomon bindings I have adjusted have a tab under the heelpiece. Take a screwdriver and pull up on the piece and slide the heelpiece back so that it fits the boot size, if it is in the furthest position back, then the binding will have to be remounted.

Yea, as with most bindings, there is a little tab under the heel, that you either press or pop up with a screwdriver or something, and adjust. Then tighten the DIN because if you have never done it before u might not get a good fit or something.

Get a free ipod, its pretty easy.

^if it's a different pair of boots, you have to adjust the wings and the toe height, too

whoa whoa whoa...OK..hold on for a minute.

Before you start fucking around with your bindings, let's talk about the 912 ti.

The 912 ti features 4 adjustements: Toe Height, Wing pressure, forward pressure, and DIN. All of these need to be adjusted correctly for the binding to work properly.

You need to start off with forward pressure. This involves finding the metal tab at the back/bottom of the heelpiece, and lifting it up with a screwdriver. You then move the binding backwards until your boot fits in it. There are two arrows on the tab itself. Those arrows must be within the scribed black areas on the heeltrack. If you can't get your boot to fit at this point, then take it all to a shop. This is EXTREMELY important to do right.

Next, toe height and wing adjustment:

Toe height is easy. The big screw on top of the toepiece adjusts it. Once you have forward pressure all done, put the boot in and give the toe height screw a 3-4 counter clockwise turns to loosen it off. Then, slip a piece of folded over paper underneath your boot toe and screw down the toe height screw. When you can remove that piece of paper with a VERY SLIGHT tug, it's all good.

Toe wings are easy. They self-center as well. Just find the screw(it's on one of the wings on each binding, pretty small), and loosen it off some. Screw clockwise until it's tight, then give it another 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn. You're done.

Lastly, your DIN setting. You need a DIN chart for this, so google one RIGHT NOW. Find your weight and height. If they're in different columns, use the one closer to the top. Then, find your bootsole length, and find the number where the column and row intersect. That's your DIN if you're a type 1 skier. If you're type 2, move down 1 row, if you're type 3, move down 2 rows from the initial number.

See, easy. Now get your ass to a shop so they can do it right.

If you can't get your forward pressure to work properly, you need a remount. Find a ski shop ASAP to have it done right. Which is what I recommend you do even if you don't need a remount.

You probably don't have enough heeltrack room to adjust your bindings for a difference of 2 sizes, and if you did, you'd be way behind your original mounting point, which you may not want. As the other guy said, take it to a shop.
