Need GoPro pole mount help....

Here's my deal:

I just recently got a pole mount for my GoPro in order to shoot not only myself, but my peers. I realized that it fits too loosely at the bottom (thinnest) part of the pole and therefore, hindering my goal of filming my friends with my ski pole. any suggestions on how to make this work? My two solutions so far have been taping around the bottom to add thickness or just using a different object other than a ski pole.

anyone's 2 cents on the subject would be much appreciated.

hmmm, maybe try wrapping duck tape until its big enough?

its always nice to have duck tape, too

move mount up the pole. or you can put two poles together by the baskets and then attach mount, works well usually

You could always make one like I did

Lots of good Ideas but Im trying to use my ski poles just do I dont have to carry around extra stuff on the mountain

This is what I did. Take the plastic square it came mounted on in the box. Cut of the sides off of it, now you have a receiver end of a clip mount with about 2 inches of plastic on each end. Glue/tape it to the end of your pole and VOILA! Now you can move your GoPro from your helmet to your pole in seconds!

i bought a shower curtain rod at a hardware store for $12, its cheap and extendable which is cool

i have a 1/4" bolt in it too, so i can use that instead of the handlebar mount, so it can do weird angles

hah you guys are crazy. Just get the thin (1-2 cm width) black electrical tape and wrap it in one spot until it's thick enough!

just wrap duct tape around the bottom of your pole near the basket in a really thin strip. it works perfectly and i don't notice the tape when i'm just skiing

I took one of the flat mounts with the dub sided tape, stuck it to the narrow end of my pole, then used some zip ties and electrical tape to make sure it won't go anywhere.

bro.
1. take pole2. ducttape bottem of pole where you want gopro mount to be.3. place mount on ducttaped part of pole4.??????5.Profit.

This was the exact situation i was in, i had a pole mount but it was too big for my pole. What i ended up doing was mounting it on the grip of the pole. that way i can hold the end of my pole near the basket and point it at what im filming, and because it's removable and somewhat small, i can take it off throw it in my pocket and continue skiing when not filming.

Wow, there are some incredibly excessive solutions here....just most it up the pole to the thicker section. It makes it easier to control anyway since you are shrinking the distance between your hand and the heavy camera. I do it all the time, it's very easy.

i did this with hockey tape and then one a couple layers of packing tape so theres no residue and it works great. electrical tape would prbly be even easier

My friend made a sick one with a telescoping leg of a tripod...all he did was E-tape a mount to the end, and it works wonders, plus it goes all compact and shit when it's not being used.

1. cut down the pole so there's no basket,

2. flatten the end of the pole

3. stick the regular flat sticky mount on the flat part.

get a broom stick or anything like that and tape one of the quick release things to it... you could always take it off later if you need too

if anybody is still wondering, just buy a tripod mount, drill a hole near the bottom of your pole, and bring a nut + bolt to the mountain. secure, lightweight, and easy. this is what i'm going to do.

yea i just added tape duct tape to the bottom of my pole until it fit..that and scotch tape..it works really well..

unscrew top of pole. acquire a thin but wide washer. put washer on top of pole and then put screw back in add flat mount and ure set and only cost about a buck
