Need edges on kickers?

i got a new pair of skis for this season (atomic punx) and they felt realy good on the jumps the first days on the slopes, but they where really sticky on the rails so i charged them as hard as i could with alot of angle until they felt "detuned".

but now when im hiting the jumps they dont feel nearly as solid as they did before, might seem obvious but it is way beyond what could be expected, and its not realy that bad when im just skiing down the hill, its only when im aproaching the jump (just before, and on the kick) when i keep them flat on the ground. i dont have any controll in the air at all because i have to focus on the skis at the last second before "take off"

never had this problem with any of my older skis so what the h*ll is going on?

Maybe the jump you hit, is in ice, which makes you slip more than on snow.

And went you hit a jump, do you hit it in a straight line and start you rotation on the lip. If you do, try to carve on the kicker a littel bit so you don't come in a straight line and carve in the same way you spin and spin when your off the lip. I don't know if you understand.

good skis you got there, ive got the atomic urban triplets which were the predecessors of the punx
probably its more mental than the just the prob with the edges in a way, because you went straight to jumps on factory tuned skis you probably could feel the difference in edge hold between then and now

my suggestion is to ski around the hill normally, find the edge on your skis and just get used to their hold, then get back to the jumps,
failing that just retune them a bit more and practise - every ski feels different

i do the opposite,

light edges under foot for locking in and pretzels, no edge on tip and tail for presses

thanks for the input guys, i'm kinda getting the feeling back. im guesing it might have been that the kickers have been rock solid until now, but i didnt realy feel it that much when i had factory-tuned edges, so when i hit the jumps after detuning them i just lost all my confidence since i thought something was wrong with the skis.. and confidence is _everything_
