so im 5 months from being 18 and my summer just started and my parents are still thinking an 11:30 curfiew is extremely generous with no sleepovers and they hired a fucking babysitter to watch the house all day. Call me a dick but to me this seems fucking retarded. anyone know what to say to them so that they'll lay off for the rest of the summer?

shes like in her 70's and my parents hired her because they felt bad for her. ive already tried as hard i can to tell them that this is fucked but they are impossible to talk with

ask them how you're ever going to be able to prove to them you're responsible if they don't allow you to prove yourself. Ask them to lengthen the leash a bit and you promise they won't be disappointed- you'll prove how responsible you can be.

Also remind them that in a few months you'll be moving out if the rules stay this ghey.
 
OP, ur parents are on to your shenanigans. also your parents sound funny as hell. just move out and let the real world kick you in the nuts so you can stay out late and make bad decisions that may have negative implications for the rest of your life. you lose out on some pretty dope experiences but hey you could get real good at video games....also college is only a few months a way and there is no better way to pay them back then to get shit fucked during welcome week and get picked up by the cops for passing out in the middle of an intersection. i knew someone who did that and it was funny
 
well ive told em ill split an apartment or something with some of my other working friends once one of us can sign a lease but ya other than that i have to wait it out all through senior year until college. its so bad and my parents are shocked that i would even be mad about this. the other thing is that they know i do drugs and drink and they dont mind if i come home drunk or whatever but they keep telling me that all shit goes downhill after midnight even though i used to be able to stay out way later than that
