i need a topic for a presentation that deals with religion that has a contemporary connection to current events. Some examples include, religion on postage stamps (religion/govt), and teaching religion in school. any help will provide you with much needed 10/10 karma
 
Do it on how some school teach evolution but won't teach creationism. It really pisses me off they say they need to keep religion out of public schools then they go ahead and teach what we (christians) have a wicked disbelief in, kinda makes no sense. But do that haha.

creationism has no evidence to support it besides a book written by a bunch of crazies 1800 years ago.

Evolution is backed by scientific evidence. go in your back yard and dig, you'll find some evidence
 
If they taught religion in schools, wouldn't they would have to teach all forms of it? If they only taught Christianity, then how would that make it any more fair?

but honestly, you could do talk about that "most hated family in the us". Talk about their stance on the war, what they teach their kids, etc. If you could find out about their beliefs on Obama that would be interesting.

you should talk about how McDonald's only plays the fillet of fish commercials during Lent becuase a long time ago the fishing industry was hurting so the church said you cant eat meat on Fridays during lent as another way to sacrifice even tho there is no purpose of it. But I love those commercials, its the best part of Lent!!!

Haha but no seriously abortion and the death penalty are always hot topics when it comes to religion and current events becuase they are always current. good luck i always hated that topic when i was in school.
 
Op have a whole presentation right there. Just talk about how some different religious groups take their beliefs (both spiritual and political) to extremes. If it needs to be a long presentation talk about Jim Jones' political beliefs and how he lead all his followers (909 of them) to death with cyanide poisoning.
 
well, they also teach newtons physics instead of quantum mechanics and relativity. please think about that, its just a very appropriate theory, that doesnt have too much flaws and is applicable in most cases.
 
you can look up lilith, adam's first wife, as per jewish folklore/old testament, who was cast out of eden for not being submissive and such.
 
Like the fossil they found that they thought was half monkey half human, it was supposed to be the breakthrough for evolution proof, but turned out they found the other half of the fossil and turned out it was only a lemur. Good thing we have amazing scientists right here in the USA.
