Will a British Columbia ID work to buy alcohol in the US, or to get into shows/clubs? What limitations would it have over an American ID? Thanks in advance

Well I went to Australia a couple months ago and I had to carry my passport with me because they would not accept an American driver's license. Some places would accept it though. If I were you I wouldn't test my luck though, I would bring another type of ID with me in case they ask for it
