Nearest skiable mountains near Burns,OG?

Gonna be fighting fire out of Burns this season. I know hood is only 4 hours away but is there any skiable mountains closer?

Have you ever skied there? One of my goals is to eventually ski every resort in Oregon so it is on my list but I've never actually talked to anyone that has been to Warner Canyon. Anything else that is worth checking out if someone drove out there?

I have not.. I've heard the snow is hit or miss. But I've also heard that it is really fun. And I definitely also want to try and hit all the ski areas in one year.

The Steens are the closest, they're pretty sick. The Wallowas are dope too. If yer up for a drive sometime hit up McCall and ski Brundage.

Steens were deftly the closest skiable stuff. Kiger Gorge up there looks really sick. I'm out of Burns though til next summer. Already got a couple spots picked out for next season if I go back.

You ever see a blue and yellow sea plane out there at Burns? We fly through there quite a bit in the summer.

Yeah I've seen it a lot as I work at the helitack base.
