ND filters on high sunny winter days

Was wondering if any of you would use ND filters in extreme daylight conditions in order to still get this shallow depth of field, on close ups mostly - in total daylight. Now I do use some and am really interested in knowing if any of you do use some and please tell me what you use on what camera. Was wondering if because of white reflection, there's more light getting into my lens. I figured out yes but I can't say I have solid proof of my statement.

- My question is for video.

yes.

I have a Tiffen 77mm ND fader. I have a few adapter rings for my lenses so I can just use it on whatever I have. It works very well.

Faders are nice, but you can't really use them past about half of their range. I used a fader for a year and like it but then I bought a 1.2ND (4 stops of light) because i found myself always using my fader on 4 stops. You could get a .9 and a 1.2 then stack them if you needed.

Yeah i mean, I liked that feature but I got used to just changing my aperture between f4 and f11 normally.
