NBA dunk contest

pretty stupid......

Dwight Howard didn't even dunk on his second one, he threw the ball through the rim. And the guy blowing out the candle was retarded......So what, he's good at blowing stuff, half the girls in America are too........
 
Dwight Howard is such a huge beast. He's 6'11" and has like a 40 inch vertical, guy's insaine
 
I don't think most of you see that dunking isn't really as easy as it looks. But i realize that most of the kids on this site can't jump that high or, let alone, are tall enough anyways. I don't even care if he threw it through...I even think it's more rediculous that he did. 6'11" and he has rediculous hang time

I know, I can;t jump for shit and respect people who can as much as anyone. I just don't think he should be praised for throwing the ball through the hoop when so may more guys actually dunked it. I mean, his first dunk was far and above the other guys, but he should have to dunk his second attempt to win it all.
 
The mj one is good...but here is vince...and his blows everyone away...watch em both, the first one is him dunking in games...the second is the 2000 dunk contest.

vince carter is good, very good, but no one will ever top mj. if you think about it, the timeline of when mj did his free-throw line dunk makes it more amazing. while people were obviously dunking frequently by '83, the pro's of that era did not grow up idolizing and practicing the stupendous dunks their nba idols were throwing down. that did not happen until the generation that saw mj and 'nique duel in the dunk contest and throw down huge during games took those moves to the playground and perfect them.

to put this dunk in a perspective we can all appreciate, it would be like if instead of his famous iron cross 3, j mosely threw a kang flip (or something equally outrageous) at the 98 games that was bigger and badder than anything anyone has done since then. the impact that dunk had on basketball is very similar to the impact the 3 had on skiing as a whole, and changed the way the mainstream percieved the sport.

and does anyone remember when shawn kemp used to be a nasty dunker? he was even in a few dunk contests before he began having an average of 4.3 children per year.
 
dude what are you talking about. the time line of MJs free-throw line dunk was that it was originated by Dr. J. There is no question Vince is the greatest dunker of all time. That dunk he did in the dunk contest shown above was absolutely incredible with style, flow, and power. Best dunk ever hands down.

Now MJ is the man at a lot of things, best player of all time, but I'd argue that Dominique was a better dunker.
 
dwight is good, but id put him two as a big man dunker, the reign man is still number one. kemps game dunks were ridiculous.
