think of how different the world would be if native americans had developed guns prior to the arrival of the westerners, and told them they had to leave when they got here.

his words are blaming those people directly, but the message is that they are claiming that this is their land and they don't want strangers coming in and ruining it, which is what their ancestors did to the natives.

in the most broad sense, yes they did do the same.

However the original colonization of North America is more "conquering" than it is immigration. Yes, we came and inhabited but it's not as if we came and everyone applied to a native american tribe and then outruled them from within.

And don't play the white people card. Illegal immigration isn't just non-white people, it includes white people who also cross the border illegally.

What people did 400 years ago who may or may not have even been our ancestors is completely irrelevant. Most did not break any laws in doing so, and if they did, it is completely irrelevant because we are not to be held responsible for what our "ancestors" did.

I'm not saying I support the way immigration is handled presently, but I do support the deportation of people who knowingly broke existing laws in order to gain entrance to the United States.

Europeans conquered the natives in that they had nothing the Europeans wanted aside from the land they were on. If the settlers did like the nazis, they would have landed with weapons and just massacred every single native they encountered.
 
Well if my canadian history is correct, they did land with weapons and they did exterminate one of the tribes native to newfoundland almost completely in a very timely manner. Can't remember the name but don't act like it didn't happen

i mean he is right, european people were immigrants themselves and decided they had the ability to claim the land for themselves (murica) and now later generations of those same immigrants are now protesting against immigration even though that's how white people got here, technically we invaded native american's land and took it for ourselves, we have absolutely no right to protest against immigration because we're all immigrants in the first place, assuming you're not native american
