Nasal congestion

i can't breathe out of my right nostril and hardly out of my left. do ya'll know any secret maneuvers to open my sinuses up?
 
how would alka seltzer affect your sinuses? hot sauce/horseradish/spicy foods sometimes help.

or just go out and grab some decongestants from the local pharmacy?
 
you might have an asymmetric nasal septum. if you seriously have that all the time. i always had that clogged feeling, on one side more than the other. then a doctor diagnosed the "curvy" nasal septum. i was actually 20 or so when it was diagnosed and had surgery.
 
Using a nasal rinse daily, even when not experiencing congestion, does wonders. I don't use a NetiPot but it's the same thing.. Just a bottle that you squirt up one nostril and out the other with warm water and a packet of saline treatment stuff. I have pretty much chronic sinus infections, as does my brother, he got sinus surgery and it hardly even helped. On a side note, sinus surgery is such a shitty operation. It's so nasty when they have to take out the packing they fill your sinuses with and it has scabbed over in their so they basically yank out tampons from each nostril that are stuck to the inside walls of your sinuses.
 
I did way too much blow this weekend now my nose is bleeding a shit ton, but no congestion. So go do a solid amount of yak and your nose will feel much better.
 
obviously i can be a lot of things. but i didnt think much of it either, so it definitely could be.

surgery was awful though. i wish i could slap every semi-legit looking girl accross the face for getting a nose surgery voluntarily. they basically smash the "protruding" bone parts and it leaves a legit wound which is protected with two plastic thingies. these are sutured in and it was pretty bad when i got them out. worst part though was the tamponade they put in to stop the bleeding after the OP. you wont believe how much stuff one can stuff into your nose. its so awful when they pulled it back out over the fresh wound a few days after the surgery.

but in general, it was definitely worth it and i would get it checked just to know whats up
 
shit i'm clearing up after a hot shower, nap, and blowing the fuck out of my nose. the other nostril is clogged now though...

Afrin will open your nose up in seconds. A lot of us carry it when we fly in case we can't clear our ears during a decent. It'll get you a solid few hours of easy breathing.
 
Lol I'm not the one bitching about it.

Not trying to start anything but I'm the wrong person to say that to. I have chronic sinusitis which means I get way more sinus infections than normal and because of it I've had two sinus surgeries and I got my adnoids removed. Sinuses are the biggest fucking pain in the ass. When I was little if go through a box of tissues every day for at least a week or two every month. I shit you not.

So I don't think it's a measure of manliness whether or not blowing shit out of your nose and not being able to breathe for weeks at a time bugs you.

Congratulations if you can put up with it. Want a box of tissues or something?
