Narrowed my binding choice down to 2....what now?

I have new Rossi Scratch Sprayer BC's (05/06 model)

I've been looking at the following bindings:

Scratch 120:

http://www.abc-of-skiing.com/shopitems/ski-bindings/scratch120alpine-ski-bindings.asp

Axium 110 WB:

http://www.princetonoutdoor.com/browse.cfm/4,11525.html

So...three questions:

1) Why should I go for the 120's over the 110's? (110's are the recommeded binding according to Rossignol's website)

2) Do the 120's have the turntable heel I've heard so much about? Or is that only on previous year's models?

3) What's the difference between the "Scratch" line and the "Axial" line of bindings?

Me:

175 lbs

5'11''

2nd season skiing

I ski Snowbird, Utah and want to learn more backcountry, and maybe park stuff when I get the balls

Thanks in advance.

get the 120s they are better overall bindings for freestyle.

as for the "scratch" line usually they are designed to somewhat match the scratch skis cosmetically. they do not have lifter plates. and i believe starting this year or last year all scratch bindings come with wide brakes. other than that the axial 120 and look px12 series bindings are identical to the scratch 120.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'll go with the 120's.

How big of a deal is having turntable bindings? Is it worth trying to find some?

Personally I like them, just cause they release laterally and it's safer for your knees, but the new scratch and PX series have better forward pressure than the turntables, so it's a trade off.

I have the Axium 200 (same, but last years) and the Px12 (same as the scratch) and I have found both to be good. I bent the brake on the axiums landing on a knuckle of a table switch, but thats it. I had some problems with the forward pressure on the axiums, but that was due to incorrect mounting. Overall, I would say that the Scratch bindings will be a bit better, but if your budget is tight, the axiums will do just fine.
