Name that feature

Hey ladies, I can’t get a clear name on this feature. What would you call it and what is the best approach to skiing this?

Unless you're just trying to pop over it and get a good tap on the end of it, or maybe just go straight over

I've also heard it called a fart tube. It makes a cool noise and the "fart" echoes across the hills.

Theres one where I ski and it's mostly snowbarders that use it

Gonna call them fart tubes now for sure

At my park they have one at the end of a flat box. I wanna be able to fly over it but that doesn’t seem to work for me. So I have to be able to hit it in some way with out falling. I watched skiers and they were able to go over it. I just get to scared on my speed so I slow down.

I would call it a corrugated tube, easiest way to hit it is probably just 50-50 and squeeze your feet together. I haven't seen one around in a few years locally though so I couldn't say. We only have the metal kind and I'm afraid to fall on that thing. The plastic ones look like they would be soft enough to fall on at least. According to this video they are good for learning switch ups since they are easy to grip:

Thanks! Now that I know the name I can find more videos to watch. I know I def see skiers do 90 on them. I just can’t slide that way yet!

Ours is plastic and sitting up high on a roller with one side being really steep so you can try it from many directions. I saw a skier today on it finally. I havent tried it yet because unfortunately it seems to be a great staging spot for people to just aimlessly stand there waiting to drop in to the jumps that are next in line. I have a tough time tryimg new things when theres a million people standing around.

Oh I’m with you 100%. I get too nervous when there are people with their go-pros or phones video-ing or just randomly sitting by the feature I want to hit. Being a teacher I can go mid-week and the park is pretty empty but I’m still scared when I don’t know how to even approach a feature.

The video guys dont bother me any more as I've gotten used to them. They're too busy getting footage. And there's always one or two around. Its when people randomly stand there , sit near or even ON a feature is what gets me. ( There was this box I wanted to try that was up high on a jump. When I got the motivation to try it People were sitting on top of it like they were gonna have a picnic!)

The snowboarders sitting there putting their bindings on used to make me nervous but Ive gotten used to them too.
