Name my car!

right on, thanks so much. definitely nice to hear some good tips from people that are knowledgeable.

and to the OP, thread is worthless without pics, LETS SEEE IT!

Thanks for the tip too, I'm taking pics as soon as I get it out of winter mode. We need more people in the Volkswagen/Audi Cult.

we deal solely in BG products at work and I pound through 5-10 cans of various bg products a day. 44k is the intake shit, like you said. There is actually some pressurized intake/ injector cleaners that we run aswell, but you need a proper mister for the intake one, and a pressurized canister deal for the fuel injectors. I didnt know that bg shit actually worked... its always just been part of our service packages, haha.

all the common issues i see at work with 1.8t is

they chew through timing belts

cam and crank seals leak often

pcv system is awful

vac hoses are awful

oil sludge if synthetic is not used

n75 valve

coil pack failure

front outer cv boots are awful, they crack every 40k km

control arms often wear and they have quadra-link suspension so multiple control arms per wheel

tie rods seize very easy

if you live in a wet climate, the sunroof drains on the floor in the drivers foot well and there is lots and lots of wiring and unprotected splices under the carpet ( even the comfort control module is under the carpet, wtf?)

secondary air pumps crack and start to sound like a jet engine at cold startup.

this is all basic shit off the top of my head. All fairly easy fixes but for a guy who cant do the work himself they add up very fast. My major advice to you is to not let it all pile up.
