does anybody has personal experience w Nthen? Local to me, ad claims make sense, the (non)camber/sidecut profile is exactly the ski I've been looking for.

does anyone know about the product/company/management?

id like to try a pair if things seem legit

What is this special sauce, why are they 900 dollars.

Who would want flat skis for rough terrain?

Couldn't tell you on the sauce, but that's why they cost so much I'm sure...some kind of strong flexy layer of unobtanium?

as far as who wants no camber/early rise? Me. I really really do. The profile is what has me most interested, it's exactly what I want

seems interesting...so the rocker profile is the same as the k2 Domain? Sounds pretty tight to me.

But I also wouldn't buy a ski without knowing what sets them apart. Maybe email them and ask what the "special sauce" is.

Just from their website, they don't seem like $900 worth of skis. While you might like the feel of no camber, it's not exactly the best for charging through crud and steeps, which seems to be what they're marketing it for.

The "Special Sauce" is interesting, but I doubt it's doing all they say it is.

"I've never seen another ski with this durability, and I've gone through maybe hundreds in my life."

This is my favorite part, the dude barely looks 30 but let's say that's his age for the sake of whatever. Hundreds of skis in your life? Let's say he's gone through 100 and that he's 30 years old, that's AT LEAST 3 pairs of skis every year since he was born, with some years him going through 4 pairs of skis.

And that's assuming hundreds means only 100.

Dude for $900 you could get 2 solid pairs of skis right now...powder all the way to park skis and in between. Why spend 900 on some small unheard of company. Sounds dumb to me. Hell...buy 3 pairs of surface park blanks for the same price

Yeah the way the market them as indestructible made me chuckle as well. I've gone through multiple pairs of skis a season, since around age 14...but my total number is realistically 20-maybe 30...100s? Please.

Give me a pair, I'll make em in in unskiable in less than his 80 days.

you'd need all 3 of those Surface's to get through a season, so maybe the price is alright? Special sauce dood

but people actually pay retail for gear? That number is just a number

I haven't spent a dollar on skis in about a decade, maybe more...so I could swallow ~$400 bucks for something I really want

But if they're indestructible, it's the last pair you ever buy.....

Hey everybody!

I made a response for all your questions on a thread at:
https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/847115/N-Then-Skis-First-Newschoolers-Thread-Ever

That's our first post on Newschoolers about who we are and what we stand for. Brace yourselves, I think I go off a little bit and may get a lil heated, but the state of our industry is getting a little messed up, and I have some strong opinions on it.

Thanks. If you could read that^ post I made and add any and all questions that you like to it, I'd appreciate it and I'll get right back to ya. I address alot of stuff in the post above though. Enjoy.

Sorry I took so long to get a post up and cheers y'all,

Oh hey. I didn't reply to one post here. Let me correct that. I have gone through maybe 60 skis, not hundreds. I was definitely being dramatic there, sorry! Sometimes I miss a detail here or there. It has been a few pairs a year, most years of my life though, yes. I was raised as a racer and was lucky enough to have many pairs of skis a year, which have been destroyed in all different ways, almost always whether on purpose or not. On top of that, me and friends, like many, have destroyed many skis that were close to being thrown away through the years too. In highschool, taking my Dynastar twins down a bit of the cement access road of Mt Hood Meadows at 20 miles an hour, was the farthest inside a ski I'd ever seen to that point, and could be credited in igniting my curiosity as I started designing my future skis that year.

Anything else I can answer lemme know. Thank you for reading.

Well put. Thanks for seeing that too. Hey I ain't trying to lie to anyone either and shouldn't exaggerate. I think the best estimate is 60. Thanks for catching that.
