made of 100% scrap wood found in my garage and thrown together pretty quickly

here is a pic of how i attached the rail to the wood:

just to give an idea about how i built it:

the rail itself seems mostly stable for how i put it on the wood. it does have a tiny wobble but it shouldnt be a problem. if wobble does become a problem i could probably fix it with some liquid nails or just by putting some shims on either side.

thats gunna suck if you lean a little to far one way and your ski clips the supports but other than that nice rail

the frame itself doesnt wobble, the rail does (and just a little). its just the way i attached to rail to the wood and not how the entire thing is built.

tonight i should hopefully get enough snow to test this thing out and i can make some verdicts; find out what or if it needs anything done to make it legit.

In that case, it's the way the rail pipe sits on the flat wood. A way to fix that would be (if you have the time and tools) to cut out a small semi-u shape in the wood that fits the pipe. I don't know if that makes sense, so here's a drawing...

instead of making it like this: (looking head on)

___o____

make it like this:

____o____
U

Pretty much the wood would just have a small groove in it in which the pipe can sit nicely, but not too low. this will help to prevent any wobbling.

Hope that helps.

we hit the rail today and its sick as fuck. so smooth and nice. the pipe has holes drilled in it and a 1x1 in the pipe. so you screw through the 2x4 up through the pipe into the wood inside.

yeah it looks pretty stable. did you clip the 2x4s on the side at all if you started to fall off? that seems like it would be the only issue

well i only fell like twice and i dont think i clipped the sides, but i might have. im not really too worried about it though, if you clip the 2x4 with your ski you would be going down anyway and i dont think it would make much of difference.
