My ripped up SPKs...

Scraped a tree with my boot the other day and this has happened...

Any other NSers had this happen to their SPKs? And if so, what happens when you / is it possible to.. rip off all the... 'pleather' ?

DAMN thats crazy, i have the kaos and other then some scuffs they have no damage after a season and a half, see about warranty with salomon

You have just got somthing caught under the front edge of the leather outher. It wont effect the boot in any way. To fix it you could get it rivoted back down. This would involve getting the old rivots dilled out and new rivots put in through the leather outer. This would cost quite a bit unless you know someone/ can do it yourself. If you dont want to spend money or cant do it, just cut off the leather outer, it wont effect the boots performance at all.

....not sure if troll or just stupid?

SPKs fit wide, Full Tilts fit narrow. You would get a boot that fits completely wrong so you don't tear up a leather cover?

They are 1 1/2 seasons old so out of warranty. Looks like I either leave it like that, or sit down with a knife and cut the rest off!

just rip off the leather, my buddy has the same boots and he purposely cut off the leather and they look mad dope

I went a head and took a knife to them. Went pretty smoothly and I guess they look alright, we'll just have to see if they are leaky or not now.

They will not be any different then before. The boot underneath is a stiffer version of the kaos, the leather does nothing other then sit there on the outside. If anything they will be lighter now, which is good.

agreed. all seems a bit unnecessary. Also, when I took them off, on the back in small writing it said "PUNTA COVER" Looks like the joke is on us.

Hahaha !!! I wish I could deal with the woven canvas on the new ones. It started fraying after like the 3rd day I just have to take a lighter to it and melt it down every once in awhile.
