My rebuttal to recent Deadspin.com article about Xgames being too dangerous

you wrote a great reply. actually i had just read that article haha.

going to quote you on something because i think it's a very well formed opinion and wouldn't do any harm in here:

"If we want to limit the amount of danger and death in the XGames, ESPN, Snow Park Technologies (the course builders), sponsors and athletes should make a point to emphasize creative trickery with more options for interpretation, rather than sheer amplitude. It will encourage viewers to learn the nuances of the sport and will allow for more personal expression that does not hinge on a slim hit/miss ratio on purely large jumps. This should limit injuries, and, at the end of it all, drive viewership for the action sports universe."

I feel what you wrote pretty much stands for what newschoolers is all about. It's nice to be able to seethe other side of the story posted below the article explaining how there is a stylish and creative side to skiing that was barely touched on in the article.

Good response, man. It's only a matter of time before some other sports media or media outlet says we should get rid of XGames.

I agree with you. I feel like theres no way to really limit the danger though. These are ACTION sports, it will never be completely be safe.
