so my shity rail just fell apart and im now going to make a better more sturdy rail with the old pvc now the pvc is 10 feet long (i no short) but how tall should it be? 2 1/2 feet?

depends how much speed you getting. Like My drop in is like 3-4 ft high and my box is 1 ft. high and its perfect so ya, how high is your drop in?

2.5 feet is good for winter only and if you only get good amounts of snow. I believe my rail is 14 inches tall and is perfect. my original one was 2 feet tall and was awfully tall. So i am going to suggest you make it shorter and put a support every 2 feet or so...so about 5

Here's the dealio: a shorter rail is, generally, more stable than a rail that is taller. I won't get into the logistics of it, but that's just the way it is. I usually just build my rails tall enough so that my tips and tails won't get too near the ground when I pretzel or whatever. With that in mind, I build my rails at a height of about a foot and a half. Maybe a tad shorter. Hope that helps, dawg
