thats my new suby- its a 2000 impreza 4 door automatic rally sport 2.5 liter

any suggestions on upgrades or changes? its white like the picture(if it worked)

and everything is stock except the usual cd deck and oakley stickers

i already got snow tires i forgot to mention

i know. it'd be amazingly fun to drive as a stick but i gotta take what i can get

i got it for 5500 from a guy that was going to jail in 3 days for getting too many dui's haha

his misfortune is my treasure... 120,000 miles on it

what kinda rims? some chrome rims just look tacky especially since this is a rally looking car.

black rims are tight but only on black cars in my opinion. i was thinkin some possible white rims with thinner spokes. i dunno what other rims would look good

i waas hink chrome 22's would fit.

JAY kay but go to sites like www.tirerack.com www.discounttiredirect.com

amoung others, and enter your vehicle criteria into it and it find all that will fit your whip, and browse for style, price ranges, colors, ect...

and you will find somethig. and check craigslist/ebay for the rims you want , you might find a baller deal.

bahahaha thatsa about the worst thing to get, every body that sees his car that drives a sti will just hate on it for being an auto with pouser sti rims.

but for mods; tints, set of konig zero's. sum kicker solo x subs, lowerin kit, inductin kit etc.

Why did u buy an automatic?

some kid in my school ahd the same one but a 2 door it had a scoop, ive seen wagons with the same hood and scoop.

Holy Shit! Someone fucking bought an automatic SUBARU! Blasphemy! Why don't you stop talking until you can come up with a thought of your own instead of spitting out whatever the kids on NS are saying these days.

Personally I wouldn't really want to drive a stick up and down the mountains all the time, and especially not in towns with lots of stop signs. Though right now I have a chance to buy a used '07 Black STI and I would absolutely love to drive it, but it only gets 21 mpg.

gold rims wouldnt look too good on a white car, maybe if it was sti blue

i was considering a bigger spoiler too

i would lower it but the streets where i live are so shitty that it tears up every car with a body kit/lowering job.

im gettin a lotta hate for this whole automatic thing and i really dont care haha i only got 5 grand from my parents for a car so i had to pitch in the extra 500 which is pretty much all i had, a stick would be sweet but for that cheap there is no way in hell im gonna find exactly what i want

For a car? That's really bad. A car that size should be getting at least 25. I know it's an STI and everything but still.

My bone stock outback sport can get an average of 25 on a good day. The STi has double the horsepower and a bigger engine. In all honesty I think most people would have a hard time staying in the 20's with an STi, I know I would.

But to the OP, congrats on the car. It will be fun even if its not a 5spd. And don't rush off doing intake mods on a subie. In most cases you won't gain anything and you could actually hurt stuff without getting it tuned properly. Most people recommend starting with suspension mods first. You should check out these forums http://www.nasioc.com for ideas on what to do.

HAHA you got a 2.5RS and you got an auto??? Horrible choice my friend. Upgrade: put in a manual transmission. HA automatic turbos make me giggle.

haha ignorance makes me giggle aswell my friend

there is no turbo involved in an rs

i hope you feel clever tho

I'm confused to why it has an hood scope then, i assumed hood scoop meant it had a turbo? And i thought RS's had a turbo. Sorry i was misinformed? Still shitty he got an auto.

You're going to take out the computer that controls your car? That should work out well. Let me know how it goes.

All subarus have a hood scoop. My 98 outback does. It's for aesthetics only.

god you people don't know how to read. Its a CHIP, its specifically for taking your car out of AWD. It affects nothing else. and It has worked great in the past

hate to break it to you but thats not gonna do jack shit for your gas mileage and its gonna destroy ur car

I was under the impression that the WRX had a top-mount intercooler - thus the bonnet scoop, and the RX, RS has front mount, non-turbo so don't need the extra cooling

I've never heard of such a thing and I'm not new to subaru's. You would think if it's so good for your car that people would be talking about it more.

word its for looks,

but ive heard you can take a chip out, but ive heard it dosent affect it and it can hurt the car. so idk whats right, but can it be done to a 08 outback wagon?

The manual says to add the fuse when driving with a spare tire on Automatic vehicles only. It is not a good idea to do this for an extended period of time, otherwise say bye-by to your transmission. You may be able to get away with doing it for a while, but you will be causing unnecessary wear and tear on your car.

And as far as getting better gas mileage, thats complete B.S. It makes no sense at all.

But go ahead and do it anyway. Transmissions can't be that expensive to replace, can they?

well since it's an automatic there's some slip so I think he'd be alright. It's more about the differentials then the transmission anyway. As for saving gas, 2wd would use less than awd.

OP, your car is pretty sweet, be sure to join nasioc.com

How would it save gas? You are still having to move the exact same amount of weight, you are still having to spin up the exact same number of wheels. The only thing that possibly wouldn't have to spin up is the driveshaft back to the rear diff. But that is such a minuscule amount that it is negligible.

The main reason that AWD vehicles get worse gas mileage than a FWD drive vehicle is the added weight of the stuff needed to drive both sets of wheels. Simply adding a fuse does not remove this weight, its still there and it still needs to be moved.
