I like how I knew who this thread was going to be about before I even opened it.
Every single time Blake comes up, its an immediate attack on his pants. His pants, people, what he is wearing on his legs. Where else can we base an entire opinion on someone because of what their pants look like? Seems to me that skiing stands alone on that front, and to be honest, its rather embarrassing. Our snowboard counterparts have been wearing slimmer-fitting pants for years, and they seem to have grown out of any stigma that may have come along with it, so why not skiing? The number of times that pants get commented on before actual skiing in situations like this is mindblowing, and I really can't for the life of me understand why skiing is so content with focusing on such superficial aspects of the sport.
I've watched Blake's edits numerous times. True, I personally prefer wearing slimmer pants, so therefore I appreciate his style quite a bit on that front. But unlike quite a few of you, apparently, I am not constantly focusing on his legs and shaking my head in disapproval that you can see his knees. Take a second to look at the wide variety of tricks he includes in his part: switch landings off big cliffs into pow, extremely stylish switch corks, rodeos, creative urban. He even does a switch 10 in there, showing us that he is willing to somewhat conform to the expectations of skiing, so why can't we be more accepting of people like him who choose a different approach than perhaps most others might.
Blake's good news in my book.
