My leg hair

It's so damn long and whenever I ski it gets all gnarled up and it hurts like a bitch. i can deal with it but it's annoying. I usually ski in regular ankle high socks and nothing else, so. Would wearing long johns or some sort of socks help ?

I usually avoided big socks because it got too tight. I tried different socks and it always sucks

Help me and my gorilla legs ns

Yeah, guys who take skiing seriously wax their legs. All the pros do it. You're a gaper if you don't.

Jon Olsson is as smooth as a baby- no, smoother than a baby.

i just shave the part that comes in contact with the boot, I makes it soon much better, otherwise it rubs and hurts like shit. Not a super sexy shave but i really don't give a fuck, skiing comfort comes before everything.

I have gorilla legs but I've never had that problem. I think some thin ski socks (maybe longjohns too) would help though. I've found sometimes after a full day of wearing longs socks my shins are a little sore regardless of what I'm doing though... I don't know how much of anything will fix it.

I sometimes have this problem but have realised that it only happens in socks that have had a day or two use. Clean, long socks tend to be fine. I have considered waxing before haha

They have really thin long socks op. Socks that are thinner and still probably warmer than your normal socks. Just saying. Shin to boot contact is your problem. You need something there as a barrier. Thin smart wool socks are perfect for that shit.

Pull them up a few inches above your boots, and leave yo worries behind.

I had this problem for the longest time but now my boots have ripped all the hair off the front of my shins. Got this long shiny section down the front of my legs haha, but at least it doesn't hurt anymore

But seriously, i had this same problem, and after i got these homemade wool socks made by an native Alaskan eskimo named Silaluk, everything was fine. She specially made them for me and my skiing. They are the bomb.

I like this thread.

Anyway....

Smartwool PHD is pretty much the most comfortable ultra thin sock I have ever owned.

Don't shave your shins... I wouldn't recommend waxing either unless you're going to commit to doing it a few times. You'll start getting ingrown hairs and what not until your skin gets used to the whole process.

I don't know how often you ski..... but I'm at the point where I now grow very little hair on my shins. Quite a few of my friends that are in the 100+ season experience the same thing. Perhaps you just need to ski more ;)

In a sport where common injuries include blowing your knees out and falling down concrete stairs, I usually keep leg hair problems to myself.

Smart wool or cep socks are great for circulation, warmth, and comfortability. You can also wear a liner which will stop that pinching or twisting of leg hair. I have super hairy legs and I just got used to it and quit my bitchin a few years back. Just enjoy your skiingand appreciate how refreshing it is to take off your socks at the end of the day and scratch that leg hair.

Just cut a skiers mullet. Its when you shave just your shins where all the rubbing and impact happens.

This happens to me naturally within about a week of skiing. ive gotten a LOT of weird questions because of it...

Yeah, you're not skiing enough obviously, OP. Or....maybe you're not putting enough forward pressure hmmmmmmmmm.

I haven't had leg hair on my shin bone since '05.
