My friend broke his toe

We were at Boreal and my friend who is a tele skier broke his toe coming off a box switch, If you were there it was the first flat box with the big ass bomb hole. Well anyway he came off switch, landed right in the hole and leaned foward breaking his toe.
 
this one time, at band camp, i was bench pressing a piano and on my 207th rep it slipped and landed on some kids to and broke it. i felt bad.
 
I didn't know it was possible to break a toe with a ski boot on...how the hell did that happen?
 
i still dont understand how people break ankles in ski boots.

excluding a tanner like crash. thats understandable.
 
^compression of the ankle..im kinda timpsy but the ski boot helps forward and backward support as well as side to side movement..although a compression fracture is possible from the amount of force placed upon the ankle (if you come down to hard on it)
 
telemark boots have this little flex part on top of them, close to the toes. I bet that has something to do with him breaking his toe.
 
Yes that is why he broke his toe. now Me and my friends give hime shit and tell him that if he had a regular alpine setup he wouldve been fine.
 
thats gonna kill about a month of his season

i broke my toe last year playin football and i cudnt play any sports for like 5-6 weeks
 
about 3 weeks ago i collided feet with a kid in soccer and shattered the tip of my toeluckily nothing happened to the joint so it's healing fast but it's still super bruised and painful
 
i slammed my thumb in the heelpiece of a binding this morning. i still havent regained feeling yet. it hurts. alot
