My first time filming. It's awesome!

Beware: Twixtor alert!

So my buddy just got his 60D and we went out filming today. Just walking around Amsterdam (where we live) shooting things and what not.

He's production assistant at a really cool company called 328stories (328stories.com , check out the 'Mummy suit' video, it's awesome). He could borrow the 70-200 f/4, which is what we mostly filmed with today.

Anyways, as some of you might, or might not know, I know jackshit about video, have never shot video before and was (until today) strictly a photog. He's just a production assistant, so he doesn't actually shoot, which means he doesn't know much about it too. He's a total Twixtor-whore and he only wanted to have Twixtor shots. I'm cool with that, because I gotta say, the first time making your own shot like that is AWESOME. At first I was a bit wary to use Twixtor at all, because I've been raised by ya'll filmers that it's for noobs but oh well.

Anyway, here it is:

Four shots.

1, 2 and 4 are shot with the 70-200 f/4, shot no. 3 with an Olympus Zuiko 28mm f/3.5.

Just gimme some tips on what to make different.

We tried having an even flow color-wise between the shots.

I know there's some Twixtor distortion in the shots, but what the hell. Just go ahead and bash, as long as I/we learn something from it!

Fuck. Sorry for autoplay!

And yes, I know that song has been used in a ski movie, we just wanted a nice, quiet, easy song.

yeah, thats why people shouldn't use twixtor. without a perfect setting, it warps like a mother fucker.

I know. But Twixtor does look pretty cool though. Cool enough to get to know how to use it.

Oh, one more question. What should codec should I export to? Vimeo suggested H.264 so that's what we used, but I thought ApplePro Res was the way to go, isn't it?

And apart from the warps, any decent things in there?

For online video, h.264 is the way to go, prores is the way to go for editing.
