My first edit critique

this was all filmed on a gopro hd helmet hero and edited with imovie. it's all i have editing wise since i'm just getting into filming.

pretty good for a first edit looked like some fun skiing

decent for a first edit. some things i think could be better:

all the shots seemed like they were really long lines, try and change up the length because it makes the edit more interesting and watchable.

stay closer if youre following someone, it sucks to watch a little dot in the middle of the screen.

and dont go from follows to POV in the same shot it looks weird.

just my input. good job man keep it up!

did you use some sort of softening filter in your editor? for all the tree skiing footage it looked weird, like those cheesy portraits where they soften everything.

yeah its an effect called dream that i thought looked good in the overcast snowy weather

edit was good for a first on a gopro, but that effect ruined it for me, made the gopros video quality look bad and blurry. IMO

agreed. gopros have such sick quality, gotta use that to your advantage

maybe point the gopro down a little too. i think its nice to be able to see the skis break thru the pow... gives a little more sense of self, like the viewer skiing vicariously

yeah i agree. since it was the first day i had used it i didn't know how far down to angle it.
