Downloaded yesterday and listened to it from start to finish. There are some great ideas and it's great to hear some different tracks being mashed. The use of Fur Elise and The Mario Brothers were unexpected but welcome. The Hotel California guitar parts were nice. IUs that a sample or did you play it? Unfortunately for my liking there is way too much going on. I don't get a sense of flow from any of these tracks. Some of the beats aren't matched very well but I'm not sure whether this is deliberate syncopation or just innacuracy. Do you play any instruments? I find that good mashups use both timing and key perspectives to flow nicely. Definitely keep going, because you are thinking laterally which is always good.
thanks guys! and yeahh a lot of the tracks were like my first attempts... lol
thats why some arent beatmatched very well and have sketchy transitions. and instead of having like 3-4 parts playing at the same time, im going to keep it simple as someone mentioned above.
and i do not play an instrument.
if you dont mind me asking, can you say what(or which) tracks you liked?
Exactly this - in some places it seemed like you could have had 3 tracks in one because there was so much in there . The reason I asked about an instrument is I find that if you can match beats, chords/progressions, timings it really helps to blend the tracks together. I'll have another listen at work tomorrow (night time here now!) and go through track by track. Definitely some great ideas and hey, I can't do it!
