My dad still skiboards

Every time I go to the resort with my dad it is a little embarrassing because he still skiboards. He has been using the same pair of line jedis since 99 , I have been trying to get him to switch to skiing for years but he won't. I don't know what to do , I don't want to come right out and say dad you need to get with the times. worst of all he uses poles and only will wear jeans when skiboarding. Any ideas how I can make him stop skiboarding?
 
Have you tried caring less about what your Dad does on the mountain? If he's having a good time that's all the matters. Who really cares about what a bunch of strangers think of him, be happy your Dad is out there with you because that doesn't last forever.
 
When you are older, you are going to realize how your dad is a baller and doesn't give a fuck about what others think. He sounds like the raddest guy on the mountain to me. I hope he drinks budweiser. If that's the case, he might be the raddest of all time.

do you really think your dad would be any cooler if he was wearing some ridiculous spider jacket? Other dads probably see him and are like fuck, i wish i could be that dad.

Exactly.

Don't take skiing with your folks for granted.

Lots of people's parents aren't around anymore to ski with them.

Some parents couldn't give two shit's about their kid skiing.

Be glad your father loves skiing, and you. Lots of people will never get that opportunity again, or never did at all.

Shewt, have you ever tried it?? It's actually kind of a blast. Rent a pair, and shed your inhibitions, young Padawan.
 
I would give anything to ski with my dad again. Even just once. I get to ski with my mom 2 or 3 days of the season and they are the happiest days of my year. Life is way too short to be embarrassed. I really hope your dad still shreds by the time you're old enough to realize how special it is.

this. I always used to want to get away from my dad when I was skiing but he has always been busy during the winter in the past few seasons, and then last season he hurt his knee in the fall. I don't think he really wants to venture off into the woods and bumps anymore but I'm looking forward to skiing with him.
 
You should skiborad with your dad, my dad tele skis and I took up that and its pretty fun. Having stuff in common with dads is actually really sick
 
when I first started skiing, my dad got me a pair of snow blades of which he's got a pair of too. He put on regular alpine bindings on them and still shreds them to this day, they're fun as fuck to be honest haha.
 
cant stress it enough but just be stoked you get to be out there with your dad. there are people on this site that would give anything to be able to spin a lap or two with their dad again.
 
Is this a thinly veiled claim thread?

I mean, I got my dad to hit a jump in our yard on snowlerblades and it was awesome. Dads that ski are rad. Dads that shred in jeans are even radder. Dads that shred in jeans on snowlerblades? I really don't know if you can beat that, unless he can throw a gnarly daffy with some retro steeze.

Congrats on having a rad dad OP!

Yeah right! In fact, I think that your dad is the most raddest of all! As long as that make him happy, just support him. You just don't realize how lucky you are that you can still ski with him. :)
