My buddies music.

How long did it take him to make the dub one? It's 65 minutes long and seems like it would've taken forever to make.

@vulpix: that's not an easy question to answer. I normally do practice sessions until I find mixes that I enjoy. Then I chain those mixes together. Some things are on-the-fly. But "kinky" came after about 4 months of off-on practice. I've had my new setup to do these mixes since March.

that's because it's a bunch of songs intelligently mixed into one continuous play. that's the essence of a dj mix: flawless chains of songs that blend together.
... and yes Vic. I was curious about the feedback I'd be gathering here. can you blame me?

Unlike the rest of these half-wits who come out with terrible mashups and dubstep mixes, your friend's mix sounds very professional and cohesive. I still like Wambat's a bit better, but your friend is certainly talented. I like the House better than the Dubstep. I don't think dub is his thing.

This thread is now about armadillos

@artifex: I'll take that as a compliment. I've been djing on vinyl for a while but fell off after not being able to afford a $100+/month vinyl habit. And you're right. Traditionally, I was a drum'n'bass DJ. But since I have my new mixing setup (1 laptop and 1 VCI-300), I've been trying to cross genres.

don't be a bitch

and on subjects actually related to the post...i loved the songs maybe try to split the parts into tracks to appeal to the not so patient...great stuff man!

@IdaHomie: Thank you. And if I could find a simple way to do tracking in a mix on soundcloud, I'd do so. On any CDs I hand out, I'll include .cue sheets for the mp3s or for "old school" cds, I'll just track them before burning.
Also, I'm looking for some "likes" on facebook so I can continue promoting. Sadly I have a social networking paranoia so I only have 5 friends on my facebook... and 2 of them I actually know. So it's kind of hard to promote it myself.
Just search "herrdoktor330" on facebook... you'll find my fan page.

not bad, i preferred the dubstep one. In my opinion, the build up at the start was a bit long though. you're good though, keep it up

@Beauty: Thank you very much. I might actually have a new dubstep mix here very soon. I was working on a new one 2 weeks ago, but unlike Kinky Psychedelics which has tracks from all years, will only have fresh tracks from this year. And yes... in retrospect the intro from "A Scanner Darkly" (the chapter where Charles Freck is trying to kill himself) should have had more music behind it. I'm not finished with audiobooks though. Will just be better implemented in the future. You'll see what I'm talking about. ;)
But after this next dubstep mix, I'm going back to d'n'b for a while. Anyone like drum and bass?

hey all... I'm actually going to be posting my new mix in about 40 min. If you liked what you heard at the start of the thread, you should check this new one out.
