So for my younger brothers birthday my parents got him one of those mad nice wireless bose stereos for his Ipod. He had some friends over and they all got pretty high, they got hungry and went to get food. He was a dumbass and left it by the fire where they were sitting. It rained for about 45 min really really hard, all while he was enjoying his dougnuts. When he brought it inside the thing was literally dripping with water
I told him to put it in rice for a day or two, but thats the only thing I know to do. the thing was probably like $300 and he has had it for only a month. Is there anything he can do so that my parents dont completely rape him?
 
Buy new ones and pretend it never happened? Or just hope the rice trick works. Tell him not to try to turn them on until he's sure they are dry.
 
you cant short circuit if there's no electricity running through it. literally keep it in the rice for a week
 
They make these things for water damaged electronics and you put it in a bag of like these pellets and they absorb all the water out or something. Google it. I think they only cost like $20. No idea if they work though.
 
the longer it stays in the rice, the better the chances of recovery. tell him to be patient with it- a week of the stereo sitting in rice and being unusable is better than never being able to use it again.
 
you can put cellphones in the oven at low temperatures to dry up moisture inside. i don't think that would be advisable for a bose system though
 
u have to take the stereo apart and put rice every where inside and out. i went swimming with my phone for 30 minutes and did this and it still works fine

Rice or other desiccants like the silica beads spoken of above, maybe wrap the stereo in paper towels then submerge the whole thing in a bucket of the stuff.

You don't want rice or whatever all up inside your stereo and it will still absorb water through the towels.
 
and i did something in the wrong............ my mistake.

but yes lots of rice will help. did this with my skullcandy's from skiing and they still work completely fine
 
Put it in the oven between warm and `50 degrees. Run a vacuum cleaner with the oven slightly open. Take it out every half hour and dip it n rice and flour. Turn top burner on. Begin cooking down cocaine. Put icy hot on your balls. Continue process with bose and stove. Remove icy hot from balls. Smoke rock. Sell rock and ??????? Profit?

that actually sucks... sorrie to hear about that but deff leave it in rice for like a week couldn't do any harm.
