My 4frnts are starting to come apart

My edges and base kindof are starting to peel off of my 4frnts and its really scaring me. I havn't rode them on concrete or urban just park rails and nothing too crazy and I only got them in march so I havn't even ridden them that much. I am thinking I shoudl get warranty and I hope they give it to me.

yea he has and he is thats the first thing he did, thjis was just because he didint have pictures back then so he uplaoded the pictures when he got them done ebcause he had ot email them anyways.

that sucks! my stls are fuckin mint, and all i do is rails. theres not one crack or anything. email matt, and send him the picks, hes a nice dude and might be able to help yah. that shouldnt happen when a 14 yr old rides them for 4 months!

how the fuck is the core gonna get soaked?! it's worse on one ski then the other.... fill the gaps with ptex and epoxy... it's all you can do really no warrenty on that.

The same exact thing happened to mine before they were stolen. I lost about 3 cm of edge and the rest was pulling out, on BOTH skis. It happens to any ski if you hit rails a lot, it happened to my MSP's, and its beginning to happen to my STL's.

If you are constantly hitting rails, it's going to happen, nothing you can really do about it.

has that ever happened on a pe cause thats what i have... there is no way that damage is from the user so i would call 4frnt and whereever u bought it and dont give in until u get new skis... idk wat u should do in the mean ime maybe ptex but that may f ur warantee... go to the shop i guess

Are you kidding me? 'Don't hit rails that much'??? Thta's EXACTLY what rail damage causes. That is absolutely not a warranty. In fact, that's the advantage of 4FRNT, while you're edges are just cracked, on any other ski they'd be gone by now. On any ABS sidewall ski, your sidewall would be cracked, meaning your ski is done.

And your seeing resin in the ski not the core, I wouldn't worry about water.

You've obviously done something other than 'park rails', be glad your skis are still in one piece and you can still ski on them. Most other companies' skis would be destroyed at that point.

 
also, I have taken my old K2 minenemies on concrete, street rails, 3 years of rail abuse and urban abuse on pure concreete and ledges etc and they have no edge cracks.

hey mikee, talk to sternbenz, and se what he says. that shouldnt happen if your riding how you said you were. ive been langing big dissasters and shit on my stls, and the edges are MINT. if, he says its a warrenty, go for it. if not, you can fix that (to a degree). use some GOOD strong epoxy, and carfully ingect it in ( go get a syringe from a heroine addict or something). no that the gap is filled, clamp the base with a piece of wood, aluminum, ect.

now, leat it sit fora day or two. when you come back, there will be some epoxy on your edges/base. take a knife, and cut as much off as you can. sand the rest off with fine sandpaper (on the base) the edges wont be fixed, but the base will be.

yea if you have to repair them...when you do the epoxy in the base..use a hair dryer to make the epoxy thinner it will get deeper in the wound, then put some on with out the hair dryer to seal the outside of it and then clamp it good for 24 to 48 hours.. and they will be like new, that use to happen to my PE's a couple years ago so i pixed them because they were way worse than that.

wow. neat. so i snapped the tail of my STLs.... and when i talked to the guy in my shop (who contacted 4frnt) he said it doesn't sound promising. so it looks like i just spent 400$ on some stls and they are already broken.

snapping = warranty. Fuck them. Go bitch, talk to sterbenz and there is no way you cant get a warranty. If you SNAPPED yourskis you deserver warranty no matter what.

^No it doesn't!!! There are tons of ways to snap skis that aren't covered in warranty. Hitting a tree with your tips, digging your skis into the snow on a landing, these forces are not what skis are made for and don't get covered in warranty. And that's only a few...
