So I got asked to make a reel for an job application but figured I could probably do with one anyway. Didn't have much time to put it together but worked pretty hard to get it done and im quite happy with it. It showcases personal as well as some freelance work ive done.

If you have any comments on how to improve it go ahead and let me know, always looking to improve. I also found making the reel very useful for looking at your work and criticizing it much more than a normal edit. So for next year I know what I have to do to get even better shots and improve on my own work.

Hope you enjoy

I liked that. I almost wanted to see more even though everyone on here always tells people to make their reel shorter. One thing I noticed was that it seemed you had a lot of similar shots of people smiling/having a good time. They had a great vibe but maybe mix in a few different styles of shots to show a bit more of your skill as a cinematographer. Overall it was pretty solid. Good job.

Thanks man,

Yea I hear ya on having too many people shots. I try make my edits have a fun vibe to it so I think added them to keep the same feeling/ my personality of filming but maybe it was too much..I was super picky with other shots as I was never happy with them all haha. Il see if I can find some other stuff.

Loved this, as well as your Japan edit.

I personally would not have put any go pro shots in the video. I love to put them in edits, but for a show reel, I think it makes you look a little unprofessional. 99% of the time, the client wont realize it, but for how good your work is, I dont think you should include a shaky go pro shot in there.

Loved the music, and loved the pace of the editing. Nice work!

The one was I was talking about was really the one where you jumped off the cliff next to the guy doing a back flip.

Thanks.

Yea I tried to avoid GoPro shots as much as I could, they can just get you some freaking cool shots haha. I tried to add some unique stuff to the reel which many people may not usually see and some creative concepts.

One bump for some more views and comments to try and improve. All comments so far taken on board and looking to make the reel better
