Murderer hiding in a bunker near my house!!!

This shit is fucking crazy. Last weekend somebody in my town killed their wife and daughter and set the house on fire to try to cover up the murder. Now he's hiding in an underground bunker that he's been building for EIGHT FUCKING YEARS. This is literally a few miles from my house because I live right on the bottom slopes of the ridge the bunker is in. Cops in my neighborhood with assault rifles and a helicopter has been hovering. I've probably been superrrr close to his bunker before and not even known it. Link to the news article:

My area has a fuck ton of sketchy people like this. I'm just glad that the cops found him so fast. This is one of those times where I feel safe because so many people own guns out here. Even if the cops didn't already have him surrounded, if he tried to pull shit and hurt more people he'd be shot up soooo fast.
 
I hadn't heard of this story, but I read your link. Directly after closing the window, and checking my Twitter, this popped up:

In WA right now as well local news reports the cops just used an explosive breaching charge on the bunker attempting to gain access through the roof. It failed... Must be a decent homemade bunker. They claim it has several escape route, gun ports and kerosene stove and a generator. I'm pretty sure they said they have been filling it will tear gas canisters all night and are considering flooding him out with a firehose in light of the breach failing.. I don't blame I hope the idiot commits suicide by cops so we don't have to pay for the trial and prison space what a creep

Holy shit. They just breeched and found him dead in a pool of blood with a pistol.

Ok so now I just hope they don't destroy the bunker. I want to see it.
 
If they don't destroy it I'm hiking to it. Right now everything is blocked off.

And the location wasn't obvious. They only found it because they found pictures on a hard drive in his house and were able to triangulate the position based on the view from the pictures.
 
Ohhhh. I thought that everyone he knew had knowledge of where the bunker was, and could guess that easily as a hiding spot when they found out he killed his family, not that they just knew there was a bunker.
 
i live 10 minutes away and helicopters have been flying all over the place. heard the guy killed himself this morning or last night or something.

they blew the top of the bunker up with dynamite.

I saw this on the news last night, I live in Enumclaw. I thought about making a thread about it but I didn't think it was threadworthy.

I lol'ed at the newscaster saying "They are saying it could take all night to get him out.."

The motherfucker is a nut preparing for the apocalypse, has been building that shelter for 8 FUCKING YEARS and will go to prison for the rest of his life if he comes out.

I reckon he has enough food for at least a few months. Unless they get clever he'll be there for a while...
 
And it's hardly an obvious spot, it's on a steep ridge in basically the middle of the woods. North Bend is fairly up in the mountains. They only found him because he had pictures and other info on his hard drive that they recovered from his house.
 
I live very near where this went down as well and heard the explosion of the tac team breaching the bunker this morning. Helicopters were pretty much in the air most of Friday and this morning as well. Been a very strange week for people in this area. Glad the drama is over, I would love to check this bunker out if they don't completely destroy it. I passed 27 on my way home tonight and it wasn't blocked off anymore like it was this morning.
