I was just recently diagnosed with MS and was wondering if anyone else has it or knows anyone suffering from it. Sounds really cliche for a teen on NS to be talking about marijuana, but I'm interested in applying for a Medical Marijuana Card. I live in Canada, just wondering how easy/hard it is to get one for someone my age and the fact I haven't had MS for very long.

Ouch dude. I'd smoke weed too. Vibes for you +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

half the population. But most are from the US. its alot more difficult in Canada but all you gotta do is ask your doctor. He will give you the required permission to get a card.

enjoy...

i wish i could get one..

but stillstay healthy.

Keep smoking anyway. I guess you might as well a apply for a card though. Not like you need a card to get high though.

Sorry to hear that OP. Weed obviously helped the MS dude in the Union, so that's possibly a good idea. I used to work about 20 hours a week with a guy who had had MS for about 7 years. He was still going alright but struggled carrying anything heavy and got more tired than most people would. Other than that, he was pretty good ie. could drive, work, but there was a bit more energy involved.

Sam, I haven't seen you in way too long. I'm devastated to read this, I need to come down for a visit, and I wish you the best bro. Vibes and prayers to you+++

My dad has it, but he keeps healthy and tries to do yoga and things of that nature to keep himself active. Doing simple things like that can make your life a lot easier and keep your MS from progressing as fast. Smoking weed makes everything more fun too. vibes+

well, instead of trying to get a card to wave around (not like you can't smoke anyway), why don't you look into actual treatments for MS. there are some and they do help. and before i get flamed i said treatments not cure.

this. weed doesnt solve anything just takes the pain away. your much better off doing as others said and trying to keep things the same by staying active skiing and keeping your mind and body busy.

Not directly related to ms... but a guy in my high school (canada) has and mmc for his messed up knee, he says it helps alot, and makes it easier on him to get weed, and to be able to smoke it. I would say try the opiates as montel was saying but take them easy and dont overdo it, maybe a little weed on the side would help. Best of luck. Also check out Dr. Zamboni's treatments for MS, a little more expensive, but i have seen it help alot especially with stopping the progression of it.

thats what you need to do. they'll give you interferon or some other things by injection or IV i'm guessing. weed might make you fell better for a bit but it's definitely not gonna help in the long run. especially if you become tolerant to any extent.

My uncle had MS, and marijuana was the ONLY thing that really helped. Yeah chemo and his other drugs helped out slow the progress of the disease, but the side effects were damaging. I would try and get the Medical card if I were you, you wont need it really in the early stages but once you get to the more progressive stages of the disease its pretty much a nessecity.

And +vibes for you man.

thats pretty rough for a kid to have MS, but as long as your 18 I believe you should have little trouble getting medicinal marijuana because in canada its one of the few things they list as an aceptable reason. give this a look if your serious about it, im not going to flip through it all but alot of the information should be there. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/marihuana/index-eng.php

Just to clarify, I'm starting copaxone next week as my medical treatment.. thats the needle once a day. Im just interested in medical marijuana because i like to smoke, and i wouldnt really be using it for the ms yet. seeing as i am still in the relasping remitting stages.

oh jesus. good luck to you, for real. i'm so sorry. i know someone who has it. just take care of yourself.

Wow, major major major vibes! Definitely go for some medical marijuana. It's a bright side to something so incredibly unfortunate.

my mom has it. no weed, just beta serin. shit hurts her like a mother fucker but she's tough, and it's supposedly your best option

Yea thats the stuff my mom uses. She has slowly gotten much weaker and her balance is off but its been a real gradual decline. The stuff really helps a lot if you keep active and work your muscles everyday. +vibes
