Wow...anyone see this movie? I have a few questions. What was with that guy in the beginning who saw the mud covered type man and just dropped dead? What exactly was that about?

Also what was with those old people? This movie has so much to it.

the old people in my opinion portrayed death. u've gotta read A LOT into the movie to make any sense of it. the whole idea is that the girl (i don't remember her name) is dreaming through about 1/3 to 1/2 of the movie. the main girl (i think she had dark hair at the beginning) kills herself when she 'wakes up'. from that point on it's completely told from the perspective of dream. the old people in my opinion represented death.. this is kinda rambly, but i saw the movie a while ago, when it first came out, and i don't remember specifics about it.

I watched it again...maybe the old people represent the sanity to her dreaming? In the beginning all she really has adjusted is her amazingly skippy attitude, and her acting ability (which hasn't quite been revealed). But by the end she has manipulated her dream so her lesbian friend is only hers, and it really just shows how out of control things have really gotten for her. I just really don't understand that scene at Winkie's with the mudman.

the thing is that when she apparently 'wakes up' when the people are knocking on her door, that's when she kills herself. i can't remember what happens after that exactly.. but i know that the rest is a fantasy sequence in which she looks different? i think i should watch the movie again. which part is the mudmen thing you're talking about?

Its in the beginning of the movie, follows her amnesia scene. The two men chat at Winkie's and then go around back just like the man dreamed. They saw the mudman and one of the guys dropped dead.

ohh ya, i dunno man. i read a couple articles about the film, and every person said that they thought it was just thrown in there for no reason at all.. man, that film is fucked.
